Very helpful. We are leagues behind you and we are your parents' age. Keep teaching! Still live half-time on the 50' cruiser but bought a used popup truck camper. Easy segue. Just as the runabout years ago was the gateway drug to a big boat, suspect that our "new" light truck camper adds to the journey. Thanks.

I installed the Renogy DCC50S 12V 50AMP DC-DC On-Board Battery Charger with MPPT SOLAR CONTROLLER in 1 unit. Its awsome! Charges at 50 amps from truck & also from the 400 watts of solar on my roof of the truck camper. Also, when the truck & camper is not running, the solar controller keeps the camper house batteries topped off & then will back feed & charge the truck batteries when the house/camper batteries are full!!! Awsome system for less than $300! Has been working great for over a year now. Highly recommend!

Great work on the camper Guys. I think every tool box should have a Sierra in it !!To get rid of Noseeums naturally we use a small bowl of Apple cider vinegar with a couple of drops of dish washing liquid ... They don't seem to like the smell and stay away, we use multiple bowls around the room and never have any issues with the little buggers. If we go out we spray Deet on our exposed skin and that works fine ! Stay Safe & Fair Winds !!

Yep screen repair in FL is essential to comfortable camping/rving.. Hope they never come back those little blood suckers.... Looks like you did a great job Billy on the battery charging addition! Those sinks can really be a pain to replace! not ever enough room to get under it properly.. the power of the sun in palm of Billy's hand! Nice job to both of you!

For what it's worth I have the Victron 30amp dc-dc on both my truck camper and my sail boat. On both of them it gets hot fairly quickly and reduces the charge current. So if your mounting location is enclosed you might want to think about a cooling fan, I am.

Think about hanging a mosquito net above your bed from the ceiling in a couple spots. Might take some getting used to but even if they get in the camper it will keep them off you at night.

I learned about no-seeums in the same Campground.. When I went to sleep I had the minivan hatch open, facing the steady ocean breeze.. I woke up in the darkness, the breeze had gone, and I thought I was having an allergic anaphylactic attack... I actually reached for my liquid Benadryl in the dark... When I turn the light on I realized that I was in the cloud of mosquitoes and museums ...and I itched everywhere...

Billy. I've been looking for a charge controller that can work both ways. I have the progressive dynamics converter which has smart battery charging and an isolator. I can trick the isolator into thinking the engine is running so it will connect the batteries, but it won't do it on it's own. Does your system have the ability to keep the truck battery charged if you're plugged into shore power?

Two things that change everything. One, put armor all on your screens. Spray it on and don’t wipe it off. Two, light a candle. These flying flesh eaters are so stupid the fly ride into the candle and die. Hahahahaha

The downside to using the tighter screen is the reduction in air flow through you camper. Personally, I would rather sweat than get eaten up.

You all have got that rig looking good. I have been following you all for quite some time now. And also many others who are foot loose and fancy free and I am about to sell my house and buy a liveaboard and an RV. Billy, you have really impressed me over time but, I also must say I am a Christian man and really wish you two were married. I know you have marriage plans but God don't take kindly to sin. In fact the judgement on sin is that misfortune will pursue the sinner but, prosperity is the reward of the righteous. I did not comment to preach at you though just really wish you two were not living together before marriage. And the main reason I have commented is because I really like those lights you have put on the rig and want to know more about them. Thank you in advance.

Most if not all of the materials to redo those screens could have, and should have been purchased at your local hardware store.
