I talk a little bit about my best interpretation of the vocals between Tulip and Petunia. Stormy keeps looking good. Still need a couple days before I can read her parasite slide. I also through in a funny video from yesterday evening when Tulip decided to wear 4 rings. Lol.

Just love the adorable interactions between our little Petunia and Tulip!🌸🌷🦫💖 Petunia’s so happy to have a big sis to follow and hold onto, and Tulip is affectionate but with a little teenage “leave me alone.”😅💕 Much love to Stormy, so hope she feels better after her treatment and puts on more weight!🙏🏻❤️ I also hope she can perhaps socialize a little bit soon(?) I just feel bad that she seems so lonely, but of course you have to be careful. Between her trauma and Protozoa, I totally understand why she needed quiet, calm, and space.💕 Thank you, Holley for your beautiful efforts, you’re an earth angel!😇❤️

Watching Tulip’s interactions with Petunia, I tend to agree with you, Holley, that she thinks of herself as a big girl, too big to play with babies like Petunia. They do circle each other peaceably, but Petunia’s efforts to get on Tulip’s back are for naught. Petunia does seem happiest and most comfortable in the protective arms of Mama Holley! Stormy is looking pretty good, though thin in the hindquarters area, like you mention. I hope she is getting over the trauma of the treatment for parasites!

I think Tulip is *incredible!* She has been a solitary beaver all her life, focused on Holley and her human companions. Suddenly she has to share them! And share space and pool and treats!! Even if she is a bit miffed occasionally, she is being so generous. It says a lot about Tulip's trust in Holley and family. ❤❤❤

Beavers living in safety can reach up to 20 years old. Tulip may be beaver-tutor to many babies in the years to come. What a wonderful prospect!

Wouldn't it be great to see Tulip give Petunia a piggyback ride? Although I think Tulip prefers rings to accessorise her outfits rather than a baby beaver. Stormy looks so much better; hope she's finally clear of the parasites and will soon be big enough for some kind of first stage release back into the wild. I'm almost certainly anthropomorphising here, but she always looks so wistful staring through her cage at the great outdoors.😔

A few videos ago Tulip does dive under Petunia and gives her a little lift 😅 it's not exactly a full ride but it was a positive start! I think she will succumb to Petunia's constant adoration eventually. She's already warmed up to her quite a bit since the first meeting ❤ I'm definitely curious for Stormy's soft release and wonder if what happened to her was enough to make her weary of the wild and stay for a bit or if she will just take off running back to the dam she had before whatever happened to her. It would be wonderful if she invited Tulip and Petunia to stay and they could be a happy beaver family ever after lol. We can dream ❤

What a wonderful video! Thank you so much! It's great seeing Tulip and Petunia interact. Loved the our rings on Tulip. She is something else, our Queen Tulip! I always enjoy getting a glimpse of Storminette. It does look like she is not as skinny as she was when she first arrived at the sanctuary. She is looking amazing! They did have a short meeting before. Stormy seemed curious but there was food about so Tulip hissed at her 😅 that was before Holly found out that Stormy was sick, so I assume she also needs to make sure the medicine has fully run it course and there's no chance of Stormy being contagious. I am also excited for that time though. I think Stormy would definitely benefit to belonging to the beaver family. ❤

(Elephant orphanages have demonstrated that certain wild herd norms are overturned). If Holley can eradicate Stormy's parasite, Stormy may have a lot to contribute as the only one of the three who is used to the wild. e.g. she might happily accept Petunia piggybacking,. OTOH, I find it curious that Stormy has not apparently created scent mounds, whereas the 2 young males who escaped were doing so.

I often think of how weird Tulip and Petunia(and other beaver orphans) must feel about being raised by humans. Then I remember that this is the only reality they know. Of course, Holly and her family are the best humans a beaver could have as a family. I wonder if they ever have dreams of being born in a lodge.

“ You’re crowding me! ”, as I imagine Tulip not being enthusiastic about Petunia as a passenger. The tank is small. It might just seem claustrophobic for P to be hitching a ride when Tulip can’t go very far, anyway. Maybe swimming a further distance, across a pond, would be a different situation. I’m a city dweller: what are the bird calls that we’re hearing??

She’s fine. All three of these beavers were alone themselves. And Stormy can see and smell them. They’re nearby and seen each other through the gates. She is going to take time. She was rescued older and she’s been through a traumatic couple of months. Let her be. Holley will move the meetings along when she feels stormy is ready.

While I agree that Stormy will probably be excited to join the beaver brigade, she's probably still going through the course of medication and Holly has to be sure Stormy isn't contagious. If I remember it's a parasite and those can be transferred very easily through sharing a space or food. I'm sure as soon as that happens we will get to see some meet and greets through the fence first. She did already let her meet Tulip a while ago but Tulip hissed at her 😢 It's unpredictable to know if she would be "more nurturing" especially without knowing her history. For all we know she could be Petunias mom as Petunia was found alone and Stormy was trapped in a storm drain. She definitely will be able to teach both of them how to actually be wild beavers so in that sense she will definitely be nurturing them both. She might be a little more "tough" and skittish then the other girls, having to actually survive with things much more threatening than a stuffed rabbit.
