Welcome to another 40 Solutions video! 🎉
Vaughn and Kyle from tulip go over a demo of the new Autodesk application by Tulip and Formlabs. This new technology is revolutionizing the way the plant for workers do their jobs by ensuring that no steps are missed and all production is logged automatically.
With all that Tulip is doing for operators is it going to be insane to see how different plant floor operations look just one year from now. With the combination of Autodesk and Frontline copilot • Frontline Copilot | Th... the plant floor worker has never been more empowered!

I love Tulip - tried, tested, build apps. I understand the journey, BUT, again we have a demo that, despite the good looks and obvious ‘coolness’ shows a way of assembly that frankly I never encountered much in real-life. That might be because our factories are more mass-fabrication oriented, I don’t know. And yes, I understand it is a demo, but I feel like there is still a huge gap between the demo setup and the ‘real-world’ (which is frankly not purely based on technology). For instance, after how many times of assembling a part would an operator still look at the huge screen in front? Or how much would they look at the light to pick something in order after making 200 of these in a row? Please note: I am not trying to bash, I just want to understand where exactly this type of assembly taken place to learn more and how this would work in practice.

Hey there, I totally agree with you. As with all mindfully deployed production applications, we must empathize and understand the actual conditions present in the operation when crafting solutions. What you are looking at, here, is a "factory" that has a never-ending stream of brand-new operators performing the task. This is not something that we would encounter in a real factory. It wouldn't make much sense to build this demo as though it were in a real factory setting, where the operator would have memorized this simple task after just a few cycles. Instead, the tulip application in that fictional setting would likely be more related to order or material flow, possibly andon or other functions. This application was created to fit its purpose - to allow transient attendees to build a mouse. Their needs are different than the needs that you describe and there are 1000s of apps out in the wild that have been adapted to use cases like you are describing. I hope this helps!

@@markfreedman9281Thanks for your extensive answer! I think we both agree. I would love to see a demonstration / setup that would represent a more real setup, using some of these cool features. Again - I am already a huge fan - but this is the first ‘remark’ I always get when showing off Tulip.

I get your point, I used to be a shop operator building 400A contactors, and we have many different part numbers, much more complicated than a mouse demo, at first in the beginning I had to use work instructions but within weeks I built it from memory much faster vs with go-and-stop instructions process, this new technology is great for new employees for best training results and standards.
