The reason you have to be naked for the three fingers is actually because Vyke's armor protected him from the madness and gave him enough time to lock himself in the ever-goal, so now the three fingers just aren't risking it anymore.

People also suggest that the reason he's not inflicted with madness in the evergaol is because he TOOK OUT THE INFECTED EYE. The armor made it so only one eye got frenzied, and he ripped it out, which is why you can get it as an item from the invader version. Vyke is just too cool, he literally tricked a world-ending god in multiple ways at once.

I don’t know if you were actually asking, but the armour is burned because when vyke got touched he wore his armour, which caused his brain to basically start melting so the fingers were like “let’s not do that again” so they tell you to take your armour off

It's more that the Frenzied Flame needs to touch skin, and Vyke didn't have anyone to tell him to take his armor off. So instead of inheriting the Flame, he just lost his mind. The doors not opening if you're wearing armor is probably just a separation of gameplay and story so the player doesn't screw it up in case Hyetta isn't there to tell them to get naked.

I always just assumed that the FF was stronger when Vyke was there, assuming that's why it disappears when we get burned by them, it was the last of their strength.

You asked about Vike's armour having the prints on it despite you not being able to go in wearing anything, I think it's related to the fact Vike also failed the frenzied flame. He was, for some reason, unable to become the lord of frenzied flame, hes not even a candidate for Elden lord. I'd guess the Three fingers skrewd something up with converting him. All of Vike's gear, from his spear to his armor is infected by the frenzied flame which sure looks like he went in with the stuff. Maybe you can't go in with your gear on because the Three Fingers' essence or buff or curse or whatever they do to you gets partially used up on your gear.

Killing Gowry early in his questline doesn't actually ruin the quest. If you come back later, he'll just be sitting there like nothing happened. It's only once Millicent dies, whichever way that happens, that he's open for getting killed for real.

@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 Oh yeah, Gowry will also respawn if you kill Millicent. It's a very weird mechanic, but it makes it so you cannot lock yourself out from getting the Flock's Canvas Talisman. (You can see this interaction happen in taylorsnoore's "Beating Elden Ring using ONLY Holy Damage" run for example). So yes, you still could've gotten the talisman.

The reason the armor is melted but you have to take yours off is because Vyke wore his armor when communing with the frenzied flame and then was able to fight off their influence. They learned from that experience and aren't taking chances with you

The random leyndell knight having the lightning prayerbook is a leftover from earlier in development. In the pre-release 1.00 version, some prayerbooks are random drops from members of the respective faction (flame monk, blackflame monk, leyndell knight). They placed the flame monk and godskin prayerbook somewhere specific but for the lightning one they just moved one of the knights i guess

Run Idea: make a character that focuses on the red, blue, and green bars, don't level any stats beside vigor, mind, or endurance, use radahn's great rune and probably the amber medallions wear heavy armor and spam ashes of war with your unlimited fp and stamina while poising through and tanking everything

Minor note: you want at least a LITTLE BIT of other stats so that you can wield weapons with ashes that don't scale with stats. My favorite examples are the Watchdog's Staff and the One-Eyed Shield - 24 STR lets you wield either (but not both, you're two-handing your poison of choice), with the first summoning a ring of eight projectiles that zoom off and aggressively home on targets after a moment and the second being a shield that is also a literal cannon. These tend to fall off a bit late-game due to that same lack of scaling that makes them so powerful at minimum stat investment, though.

What I don't get are people who don't like spirit ashes or summons but then use every other exploit imaginable to just skip fights they complain are bad. Also Vyke just rocks as a character, love a golden boy who goes bad and manages to realize his mistake before he lets himself fall any further

I’d recommend a crucible knight secret starting class, except the only way to get there armor and weapons is either to go to the Azura hero’s grace or the deep root depths. The horns and the tail are neat, but might get grating against boss sized bosses

I think the idea of Vyke's armor is that he kept it on and didn't become a proper vessel for the flame. Hence why they lock the doors now unless you're showing skin.

Been using Vyke's Spear in the Convergence mod and it's be great cause frenzy effects most enemies it looks like. If they dont have a madness animation they usually just take a big chunk like from bleed. Great video!

Vyke's armor isn't actually the same as the knight set, but I suppose it's similar enough. Main differences are that vyke's is slightly less bulky and has holes in the visor of the helmet

I've been having fun with the convergence mod doing this build, they make it so madness affects all enemies in the game, but the proc ends up being I think 6%ish max hp damage, and then they deal 20% less damage for half a minute or so. Not broken, but it's kind of fun to use just as a support for your big poker.

For the two thirds of a dragon his left side never really gets hit by the lasers. If you start anywhere in front of him the wind up is long enough to run around him to his Left. (in my experience, and the last two times I fought him I was on Hard/Shura mode in the Reforged mod)

I see a lot of people talking about Vykes armour burning. To my knowledge, the three fingers didnt decide you needed armour off because of him. Thats not how that works. Rather Vyke didn't have a maiden to tell him the words of the finger. So when her went to the three fingers, he didnt onow to enter whilst naked. And so, his armour was burned. And he went crazy.

I think the implication with Vyke's armor being burned is that he entered the Three Fingers' room with his armor on, causing it to get burned and start melting but making him a failed vessel for the Frenzied Flame since it couldn't make contact with his skin. Maybe the Three Fingers made the rule that only naked people can enter after that.

the Flame of Frenzy incanct has 2 hitboxes one with the actual projectile and then the aoe when it hits the ground against bigger targets you should aim it so it hits both.

I have an idea for a Secret Starting Class that also doubles as a cosplay build, although it's a tad obscure Agni from Fire Punch Spiked Caestus(either Heavy w/ Bloodflame Blade or Fire or Flame) Blessing's Boon/Blessing Of The Erdtree Blessed Dew Talisman Fire's Deadly Sin and always either no armor, the Royal Remains Set or Alberich's Set minus the head and arms instead using any form of metal gauntlet and no helmet or the commoner's crown/headband

For the longest time I've wanted to recommend doing a run as Minecraft Steve, start as a Hero and cut various trees with an axe, the Limgrave Tunnel could supply the focal-point Pickaxe, you'd quickly have a gaggle of tamed wolves protect you, you could actually wear improving sets or armor. I've just never had the guts to since, technically, Steve fights mobs with a sword.
