Sweetie, that was no heat gun! That was a torch! There is a big difference. One has a flame, and the other wind doesn't. However, they both pop the bubbles. Just wanted to make that clarification before I tell you tonite is the 1st night I have watched your videos. There awesome! I watched your other video, and it; brought tears to my eyes, and I totally understand@ The only other thing I'm gonna say is please continue to make your videos! They brought me so much joy, before you brought tears to my eyes, but please don't let it stop you! You are too good at what you do! Your tumblers are gorgeous, and it was YOURS that I chose to watch, because they are so gorgeous and different than everyone else's. You have a great talent that needs to be shared. But, take care of you first, then continue on!! You are too good at it! ♥️🙏

Hey Nicole! Thank you so much for sharing everything you do with us! You’ve already saved me when I’ve run into a problem. Question for ya: I keep ending up with a big ridge of epoxy at the top of my tumbler. Am I possibly just using too much for each layer? I originally thought my tumbler was angled back towards my spinner so I adjusted the way it sits, and am still having the same problem.

Awesome tutorials! I’m going to follow these for my first Milky Way! Some people say you need to seal the glitter with a spray adhesive before adding epoxy if you use multiple different colours. You didn’t do this and added your epoxy... I’m not sure what I should do....

Do all brands of epoxy heat up? I am not sure I ever noticed mine getting warm.
@NICOLEMARETT2 жыл бұрын
That's a good question! Depending on the speed yours cures at I would say. Generally, if you are working with a fast set epoxy then you would notice. Otherwise, longer setting epoxy, big batch pour artist epoxy, and slower curing epoxy would probably not be as noticeable.

My glitter layer is moving when I place the layer to “seal” it. I waited almost 8 hours. Do you think it was time or epoxy that made the glitter move? Almost all of the layer just started moving around the whole cup as if it was the first layer. Before I did the second layer it was dry, hardish (not wet) but the glitter could flake off if I tried hard enough. The glitter was set on the cup (or not? I guess). Should my first layer of epoxy that I poured the glitter on have been thicker? Just giving you as much info as possible.

I looked up the epoxy you use but it doesn't say that it can be used on tumblers. It says its food safe but to use it on a cup that we drink from the rim often would it be safe? Im currently using envirotex and am looking for another possibility. Im in Canada, thats also challenging because not everyone delivers here. I kept getting mixed messages from envirotex when i emailed and messaged them whether or not its safe. First they say yes once its cured, next message says no none of their products should touch our lips. (eyeroll) lol i wish theyd get their stories staright. Anyway i love love love this cup your doing.. its so beautiful

Before you put your pigment you said U put two coats of epoxy to get it wet... question do you wait between coats and if so how long?
@malindasmith34965 жыл бұрын
Melissa Carney It may depend on the brand of epoxy you use but I believe you should wait at least 8 hours between coats. If you apply a new coat before the first coat is cured you risk the first coat not curing properly and having a soft cup.
@NICOLEMARETT5 жыл бұрын
6 hours to reapply and 72 hrs for fully cured.

@Bunny12665 жыл бұрын
You're probably waiting too long.
@malindasmith34965 жыл бұрын
You want it to start to thicken not cure. If it’s too thick try warming it up. If you wait for it to thicken when you do apply it you have to move quickly.
@melissacarney52085 жыл бұрын
Malinda Smith doesn’t heating it up rush the cure time and thicken it?

Melissa Carney If you just got it with a heat gun it thins it out for a bit. I don’t mean heat it a lot for a long time.

The glitter part almost feels like a waste because you hardly see it but this is a lovely cup.
@NICOLEMARETT5 жыл бұрын
I feel ya which is why I am not a huge fan of the dirty pour geode look. However, the style is going after visual texture and layers. The white that I am coming out with doesn't cover the sparkle completely and lets the glitter shine through. It's perfectly made for layering and does not "waste" the glitter bling.
