Looks like your batch turned out pretty darned good! Thanks for walking us through your whole process. I've also found that adding a 1000 grit cycle into my tumbling helps tremendously, although it's often a bit tedious to have to run 5 cycles per batch (80, 220, 500, 1000 and 8000)

Where did you get the rocks from? And what do you do with them when they're finished tumbling? Those rocks are really pretty.

I believe those came rough from gemsbymail, however something seems to have changed on their site recently and they don't have much anymore. Used to have great deals. Sometimes amazon has ok prices but you need to have an idea what a fair price is. Kingsly and rockshed are nice but the shipping can get you. The closest "local" place for me is the Gem Shop in Wisconsin still an hour+ away, but if we are headed that way I try and make a stop. Some I give away, and there are various bowl and jars of them around the house. Sometimes dollar tree is a good place to find cool glass candle holders that work well, or goodwill.
