god if this came out during the peak of tumblr it would've been insane

Oh INSANE, there’s so much fucking fan fiction out abt it already if this came out in 2014 if would be era defining

For real, I would have probably made a whole separate fan account just for the stunning visuals & set decoration.

Loved what she was saying about Felix and how we view him. He’s not nice or some angel in a cesspool or evil and arrogance, he’s just the best considering how awful the rest of the characters are.

Love how rich the film is with intertextual detail and influence. Really imbues those “shocking” moments with exciting depth. Emerald does have an interesting mind. Recently bought her book, Monsters.

I knew as soon as I saw it that it was inspired visually by Greenaway. The best way to describe the aesthetic would be "opulent filth" in my opinion.

A lot of people give her flack, and some of the criticism is warranted, but I can't help but love her perspectives in her films. Very timely, insane, unique. I like different films like this becoming mainstream rather than a generic, streamlined movie, even if they're full of controversy.

Great interview, loved the questions chosen, also THANK you for putting all the movies on screen, makes looking them up so much easier, and additionally made me chuckle when you put “Leonardo di Caprio - actor” on screen too.

So real. It's like it was made exactly with my tastes in mind. I am convinced that it's because Emerald is a tumblr girlie. We are a single minded entity.

I thought the movie was not worth the hype, the “freak out’ moments were so contrived and just put in there to hype up a rather boring film. The first hour could have been dropped entirely.

She did a poor job demonstrating that deep longing and desire. It all came across as rather impulsive

Him making love to Felix’s grave wasn’t longing and desire??? I beg to differ.
