The helicopter is always the most impressive part of the show. Just the appearance of it alone gives me chills.

I remember seeing this as a child, and the helicopter swooping in- and then swooping out later- terrified me. A lot of people left the theatre during the second act, and when I asked my mum why, she said it was probably because it hit very close to home. That many who had come to see it had grown up during Vietnam, and remembered watching the Fall of Siagon on TV.

This is one of the most emotionally overwhelming moments in musical theater (and the show in general.) I'd imagine alot of people who were Vietnamese or watched the war/ protested the war was very overwhelming. I'd imagine most kids would be scared of thos scene.

thanks for granting my request to upload this song but It would've been better if you guys started with Ghost Thuy's part as it is on the album, it is the actual beginning of this song

I first saw this in 1995 when the US tour came to Seattle, and while the helicopter was impressive and of course got the most attention, what grabbed me and has stayed with me was the devastating despair among those who were left behind to face whatever doom awaited them. This version captures it perfectly, along with the terror on their faces.

Watched Miss Saigon at Taipei today. The helicopter left is shocking and soul cracking, tear up.

Seeing this cast live was incredible. The helicopter was so cool. They turn on fans that face the audience and it felt so real

Kim never thought that Chris left her. She kept on waiting and always hopeful that he’ll be back. This scene speaks volume and the end of the story will definitely leave you weeping. “Why, Kim, why?’

Need to be in the theatre to feel. This scene is impressive.

Saw this as a kid, first musical I ever saw! I’m gonna go out on a limb & say that the helicopter in Miss Saigon is a greater spectacle than the chandelier in Phantom!

Saw this in New York as a drama club trip and had no clue what the musical was going in. It was utterly fantastic and breathtaking

I never understood why they made it Kim's Nightmare when they already established that it was Chris having nightmares, while kim was still hopeful
@TheKnowledgeMan1016 ай бұрын
Is it possible for both people to have the same nightmares?
@Toedeledokie77Ай бұрын
This was clearly Kims nightmare. She was the one who was forced to stay in a situation that could kill her. When Chris was free and flew back to America, she was in the worst place of her life. That is a nightmare, knowing there is no way you can escape faith.

This is based on a true story which is the fall of saigon ending the vietnam war

After the war why would he try to go back and get her and why wouldn’t she try to leave?
@nutterbipple4 ай бұрын
Kim was left poor & destitute, she did managed to leave by the end of Act 1. Chris (in a song) told John he tried getting a word out to Kim and looked for her by the end of the war. With how the Vietcong re-educating most of Saigon, he feared & believed Kim was dead.

This was a great production. The only complaint I had was they changed Ellen’s song after she meets Kim and compared to the originals, it sucked
@Toedeledokie7713 күн бұрын
They did changed the song to make from Ellen a sympathic woman who is just the victim of the situation, but for most of us she will always be the woman why Kim thought she had no other choice then to kill herself.

Eva is a lot better than Lea but I think I should not be comparing
@Toedeledokie7713 күн бұрын
I love both Lea and Eva, they are so much how Kim should be. So pure and innocent but also decisive, to do what she believes is the best. They are the ultime Kim.
