I'll be curious to see your test results when putting your tuner back to zero. That was the best grouping initially.

I did target -10, -5, 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 settings in coming up with the '10' setting for the target shot in the video. The follow up '0' setting opened up the 3 shot group to 0.37". The 3 POI non-touching. I am not quite sure what to make of that?

I had great confidence in my EC Tuner...........Then I used up that lot number and it is in my safe now. The first time I started tuning that particular lot I only adjusted the tuner twice and left it alone until all three bricks were shot up. Had lots of fun shooting tiny groups and the little push pins I use to secure my targets. I never cured it of a wild one every so often that most likely was shooter error or environmental changes. I shot lots of 1/2" dot drills and never could clean one, lots of targets with just two misses. Four rows of five dots each, one magazine change for the RimX. I have a new Meopta 6 SFP scope to try I am picking it up today anxious to try it out max magnification of 27 power.

I don't intend to park the tuner on this V22 indefinitely. This is a trial to see if already great could be made greater. The concept intrigues me. What is required for each lot does not. The V22 performance with lapua is predictably great. The action was developed with Center-X. Here using Eley Tenex it remains good, perhaps a bit lower in results. I have no doubt the tuner will find its way to the shelf eventually, but at the moment it temps and teases 🙃.

I haven't shelved it permanently when a lot of ammunition comes along that is consistent it will be back in use. My fault is shooting bottom shelf fodder hoping for a miracle. I haven't been able to make bad ammo shoot good with it, it has to start out pretty darn good to do what the tuner is supposed to do. It is stimulating to try I agree. I mounted the new Meopta yesterday and rushed to sight it in the higher magnification really knocked out some of the sight picture and it was a gloomy day so I ended up shooting below 20 power. I knocked out a couple of good groups and shot four of the small push pins at fifty yards in a row. And they are the ones with clear heads not colored about 1/4" in diameter. 😀 @@22rimfireultra67

Was the ammo lot tested, best of 10 boxes? IMHO, tuners may help a little, but will not make bad ammo shoot good.

This followed 'testing' with 10 lots of Eley. Five Tenex and 5 Match. The best of the ten was Tenex which was used on this day.

Without knowing everything such has was the barrel cleaned between sessions? Air temp on both days, how long was ammo exposed to those temps, did you rink 1 cup of coffee today but no coffee the previous time... and on it goes. One thing many shooters do is make changes all the time. Always changing the scope settings, always trying to adjust tuners up and down. All your data will tell you nothing if there is changes always being made. Your rifle is capable of shooting a certain size group on average. When you see the smaller grp on that curve and chase it with changes on future groups you are wasting time and money. The best shooters understand they will average a certain grp size and all they do is try to maintain that because in scoring the average of scores is what matters. Having a single awesome grp is not winning any titles. Shoot a target and score it, log that data ...all the data temp, rounds down since last cleaning, wind, lot # etc. After several scores you'll know what you can average. Every target will be a bell curve some good some bad. When you make changes make small changes and repeat. With enough data and time you'll see most likely you're chasing the impossible. If .2's we easy everyone would be making rifles that do it and we'd all be buying the exact same ammo. We're to the point where every RimX and Vudoo shooter expects benchrest results from rifles just not made for it.

I hear (read) what you are saying. And agree! For me personally, and the reason for this video, 'I'm just entertaining myself' 🙃. Thanks for taking the time for your comment!

@@22rimfireultra67 I am glad I cam across your channel this year. We have many similar rifles but you (jealousy) have more time than I to use them. I look forward to more content this coming year, Merry Christmas and may Santa leave you a brick of ammo of your choosing in your stocking!

You are exactly right about all the things that can effect a group temp hum every time you shoot consistent groups are what you want and I am just not into the tuner my czs shoot 1s 2 and 3s at 50yrds factory barrels do I think a tuner would help this? Absolutely not and those things are about butt ugly and some great shooters have told me they are not repeatable if you move the tuner you can't go back and get the same results now I don't want one but that's just me. On my CZ 457 MTR 20" I do not use a tuner, it is the most boring .22 rifle that I own. If there is more than one hole after firing 5 rounds, it's either me or the ammo. It's definitely not the rifle.

it looks to me like you were fighting a left to right wind. all the info says the bullet is supposed to hit low and right but my results are just like the shots in your video. some go up, some go down and some even go left. I just cannot get any consistancy from a left to right wind.

KC, I'm glad you figured that out! 😂 Here I thought it was all on me! 😏 As mentioned, the shoot did not measure up to my expectations, but I cannot complain about having the afternoon to shoot! 😊 Have a great day!
