Tuning Your Car | Most Important Mod!

The Most Important Affordable Beginner Mod, that is basically MANDATORY if you intend to get into the modding and aftermarket world. I do not cover Dyno-tuning in this video, as that is not something I have personal experience with, and I'm not someone who talks outside of personal experience. This video covers Email tuning only, but does it from beginning to end. From finding the right tuner, getting it on the device, and finally putting the tune on your vehicle. For this video, I use my Mustang GT to demonstrate this process.

Tuning is very important, especially with upgraded ignition. If you upgrade your injector size, never drive it, always have it towed to a tuner shop, or at the very least load a basemap and drive to the nearest tuner, long as if its short distance. Otherwise youre looking at a hydrolocked engine and that is no fun

Remapping and reprogramming the OEM ECU is pretty nice, especially because these ECU usually reacts better than most aftermarket/custom programmable ECU or ECU with a improper piggyback device and got plenty of diagnosis tools to keep your vehicle running perfectly and smoothly. That's the best option for people that like cars, but really don't have the time, money nor knowledge to troubleshoot and tune the engine. Actually, that's what I usually recommend to people with expensive cars or cars that you need to run reliably... and there isn't any shame about it, because a lot of people like cars aren't a big fan of getting the hands dirty or going into the "mathematical & scientific nerdy zone" of fine tuning. But some engines already reach their limits (especially smaller ones) or got technical limitations in the ECU (example: not being able to read positive pressure in the intake manifold, which will result in lean mixture)... That's when you should try the DYI solutions and try to learn how to tune and engine and adjust all the variables by your own self! That's a skill required for people that likes to tune carburators too. I wouldn't call it necessarily the next level, because some professional remappings already reach the engine full potential and... It isn't reasonable go to DYI solutions. Hehehe

A tune was the first thing I got for my 2011. it made a world of difference. Not so much in power, but in day to day drivability, especially with modern drive by wire throttles an their horrible lag. It just makes the car more fun to drive. Plus the diagnostic abilities pay for them self lol

After my axleback gets on, I'll probably H-pipe my car as well. I hated how all the quad-exhaust catbacks came with X-pipe, so I had to get an axleback for now. You'll figure it out when you get your first car. The first step about researching tuners, and talking about the forums is the best advice I can give you. People on the forums will soon become your best primary source of information because they literally have modified their cars, and than share their experience and if it was bad or good. A good rule of thumb, don't modify your car within the first 2 months of buying. Just give yourself time to do the proper research. I've met way too many people who jump into modding right away, break shit, and than complain all because they didn't research and were impatient.

Is there any huge benefit to a dino-tune vs an email tune? I just got my tt dino tuned and it ran me 700 dollars, these email tunes look to be around half that price, which makes sense, but do you get half of the performance? Or is it more?

Dino-tunes are 99%-100% accurate. Whereas an email tune can vary in accuracy, being about 85-95%. The way email tunes work, is that the company itself (in this case, Lund). They have a, "test car" at hand that they dyno and use that as a basis for all their customers. By just Dynoing your car in specific will always guaranteed the best possible result. Also some cars don't have a reliable email tuning company (I hear Subbie bros always talk about how their email tunes aren't worth the money, so they just dyno their cars)

I own a 2013 Dodge Challenger r/t that’s manual. Would a tune make a noticeable difference? My car is stock under the hood for now minus swapped air filter. Not CAI just highflow air filter.
