Welcome To DJERBA Day 2 and welcome to the Tunisian Locals! We really enjoyed exploring with our taxi driver, from the cowboy at the beach to the flamingos by the sea! We also had some traditional Tunisian food before checking out the Souks and the crafts that Djerba has to offer. We think you will be really surprised with this desert island in Tunisia!

Harriet and I will go to Djerba when we get to Tunisia in early fall. Did you get to go to the Ancient Synagogue in Djerba. We agree with the previous commenter that the city of Kairouan is a place to see with the Great Mosque and many other attractions. Buried at the Mosque is the Mausoleum of Abu Zamaa Ai Balaoui, friend of the Prophet. An interesting story about him. Another outstanding video Mates. Looking forward to many more vids. Sending much love and affection 🙏🙏🙏 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.

Flamingos get their pink color from their food. Flamingos really are what they eat. Many plants produce natural red, yellow or orange pigments, called carotenoids. Carotenoids give carrots their orange color or turn ripe tomatoes red. They are also found in the microscopic algae that brine shrimp eat. As a flamingo dines on algae and brine shrimp, its body metabolizes the pigments - turning its feathers pink.

If you would like to see more pottery workshops, go to Moknine (not far from Monastir) and to Nabeul the capital of Pottery in Tunisia ( Not far from Hammamet) you will see a lot of art right there. If you need any help, pls don’t hesitate to send me a message and I will be happy to help you with some good adresses even I am Far far away 😂

The video shows that we can see everything in Djerba in one day but it is a bit hard to do so, I went Djerba for 4 days and did not see what the Island has to offer 100%! ..... Concerning pottery, it is not a"fake Chinese Berber pottery", it is authentically Tunisian Berber way of doing pottery in Tunisia; they learned it by themselves when internet did not even exist neither in Tunisia nor even in the whole world ... PS: That pot is called "Gaulla where basically red meant is cooked with some veggies....
