Looks great Dave for the inside I painted them black with paint full strength so when installed makes tunnel opening dark past the stone work .

Looks very nice, on the middle of the tunnel you should make it black from steam locomotives passing through depending on the era.
@davestrains68164 жыл бұрын
That is a good idea but I don't run steam on my layout. My era that I model is late 60's to early 70's. Thanks for watching and commenting

How do you make your wash,Just paint and water? I'm a beginner 😀
@davestrains68164 жыл бұрын
I use black paint and water. Usually about 1 part paint and 15 parts water. You can buy washes from Vallejo but you may need to dilute further. Thanks for watching and commenting and Happy Railroading!

Hi Dave! Love your channel! I had a question :) i am using foam for buildings and bridges. Im on a strict budget, hehehe. I tried spray can and OH BOY! IT melted my foam. Is there anything you recogmend to use?
@davestrains68165 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! In answer to your question, you could carve your bridge abutments out of foam and cover with sculptamold or some other plaster material. There is a gentleman on KZbin, N-Scale Union Pacific Evanston Subdivision, who works with white Styrofoam. As far as painting I would only use spray paints if your working with plastic materials. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching.

Try looking at the tunnel portal video by marklinofsweden, he does a great job of painting Styrofoam without spray paint.

@@davestrains6816 Yes, to both questions. I am a long time member of the 'Crossville Model Railroad Club (CMRC) (Web www.crossvilletrains.org ), and am building my 'SEUSA RWY' layout in my basement. You can follow some of the progress on my FB Group Page 'ARCY Hobby Railroaders'.
