That's why I'm happy to be from NY, be it in prison even then race plays a part, crews and gangs on the streets even though largely of one race, is never just one race. And even in prison you being in a gang that isn't of your race, if you really with it, it's all good. As an outsider, Southern California seems way to fucked on races and than ethnicity as well within those races if there is any different groups.

And so many think the south is racist and the only ones. I grew up with a lot of different races and ethnic groups in the south. My brother joined the army and he saw there was racism everywhere and the south was not as racist as the rest of the US or the world. In the south we grow up together and not all black people are thugs and not all white people are kkk like the rest of the US seems to think. The rest of the races/ethnicities were integrated and we didn't see any different than ourselves. It's so funny to see the amount of people who still believe the south is racist and the rest of the US is fine and the rest of the world. Not until the last few years have I seen racism in the south and it is because of the government trying to divide people and make the rest of the US like California and New York. My SIL could not even walk down the block from her house in Brooklyn because she was Korean. There were multiple groups of people who did not like any Asians. They had to move from a great house because she was unsafe. California and New York may think they are "woke" but they seem to drive the battles between people who are not the same as they are.
