The title is a rather silly pun...they're "damned" because they're behind a dam, and damned because the dam breaks down. It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "damned if you do, and damned if you don't!"

One of the things about KZbin that bums me out most is that it takes the AI a year, or more, to present me with gems like this. This film was really heavy, and definitely deserving of far more views, and likes.

This is why they have acting classes,- and schools that teach "the Arts". Don't know if the dialogue or the acting was more amateur and wooden, but then, it's tough to imagine a world of 40 yr old , hipster, teens,with ever shifting accents.Usually wouldn't criticise, but most of these shorts set a high standard.

WOW! How did you do that in 14:55 minutes?! That was amazing. Love the graphics, the claustrophobic feeling of the wall. The desperation of the couple--kind of trying to carve out some sort of happiness in this reverse fish bowl of a world. And the young girl expressing her frustration. Felt so much longer than the run time--and definitely in a good way. Funny I just dropped a review in another of your videos--and I guess KZbin recommended this one as a result of that other "like." The carrot dinner reminded me of Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions, the story about the aliens who eat the fake food, and how real food becomes almost pornographic to them. I also was reminded of "These Final Hours"--the way the couple is together and how social animals find meaning in association. Even facing certain death--and the actors did a great job showing they understood that--somehow people find comfort in the idea of dying with other people, rather than alone. And what an ending--Biblical styled flood, wiping us away--and with just a hint that perhaps we brought it on ourselves (oceans rising from global warming? Who knows?)--so maybe recompense for our sins like the Noah myth. Really, great job. Bravo!
@tuperhero6 жыл бұрын
Tracie Harris thanks a lot! Nice to read such detailed feedback. We purposefully left the actual cause of the flood unknown, but you hit the nail on the head when you said we brought it on ourselves. Cheers

I get what you're saying and I agree.. I'd never live or vote for something like this (think green new deal, green energy, NWO- the great rest, implanted RFID chips etc). however I think you're confusing utopia for dystopia. A utopia or eutopia typically describes an imaginary community or society that possesses highly desirable or nearly perfect qualities for its members. But Dystopia is an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic. Here, they were promised a utopia(the same as what they're trying to get us to agree to now) but instead they're living in a dystopian nightmare and the left is trying to do create a (they think they're going for utopia bc the elite has a different vision for us) dystopia too. Lol It's ok many people seem to confuse these two and you don't have to be a nutty Dem to do it. It happens to the best of us.

How completely imaginative! Yes, I have wondered what the literally damned can do about their damnations. I did not mind the "bad acting" - the ever troubled teen, the lovebirds so ecstatic with a meal (raw carrots and wine?) - I've heard of worse. Let there be light (quasigiggle). There is a French novel by Joël Houssin, called "Blue" (1983), adapted in graphic novel format by Philippe Gauckler in 1985. "All around there is the Wall. Inside there's the City, and inside the City are the clans : the Bollers with their fearsome front plate, the Bleeders, masters in the art of the knife, the Skins, as stupids as they are strong, the Youves, firearms specialists, the Strays, guardians of Chaos, and the Rollers, the fastest thanks to their roller-skates. The Wall covers the horizon. It is massive, insurmountable, inaccessible and defended by the Neons, mute and relentless warriors. The Wall is an obstacle against the Future. Blue is obsessed with It. In order to overcome It, the leader of the clan of the Rollers is up to anything, including allying himself with his worst ennemies. But what lies beyond the Wall ?Paradise or Hell ?" (From the publisher's description)
