Do you wash..Mushrooms etc before put them in or do you put in anyway

No I don’t wash them first. I use kitchen paper to wipe away any dirt.

Do you wash the items before putting them in the containers?

It is best not to wash them until you are ready to use them so that you are not introducing more moisture. However for short term preparation then you could.
