Nissan put a tsb out roughly 20 years ago about the upper chain guides. Nissan stated that both upper chain guides serve no relevance.

hey, I'm currently working on my KA and looked through everything and did a compression check and it was zero. I was wondering where was your cam sprocket pointed at? I changed 2 good head gaskets and prior of the build I had compression. what I'm guessing is my timing maybe the cams should be facing a certain way. thank you for your time!

I’m dealing with a single width chain (engine in a Frontier - also oil pump/distributor gear is on crank instead of idler) Both cam sprockets have 2 marks. Not sure why they both gave 2

OSK Timing Kit. Search up tack welding the tensioner to prevent failure

Need some help, I took off my cams instead of taking off those bolts(didn't know I could do that) now I can't get the chain on what can I do? I tried to take off the bolts but the cams just spin.

Never said anything about the positioning of the crankshaft can anyone help me out on telling me where the crankshaft should be located for top dead center

Crank shaft pulley should have the second notch at the pin on the front cover front cylinder should be all the way up

Why weren’t the marks lined up towards the end of the video ??

frayjc i spun the motor, once u spin the motor the marks dont line up 100%, just gotta make sure its set up right the 1st time then your good

Southern Hooning so when finding tdc prior to removing old chains the marks won’t line up if I rotate the engine enuf times or do I do the screw driver on piston one trick to find tdc

frayjc nah to find tdc there are marks on the harmonic balance its the 2nd ti last one for tdc, just need to make sure its compression stroke tho

frayjc u can take the spark plug out the 1st cylinder and hold the palm of your hand on top of the 1st cylinder spark plug hole while cranking, when your feel pressure pushing on your hand that means your on compression stroke
