My KIA? Bent the rear axle. The good news, I went up to the local Wrecking Yard and brought a battery and some premix. The Cadillac which sat for 13 years, fired on the 3rd try. (The only parts removed were the hood ornament, mag center caps and the badging. Being a first year Cimarron, nobody wanted it.) When it fired up, the stereo was blasting Journey "Any way you want it."

Man, that's tough. You can say that's racing but it still sucks. I don't think I've ever come across a clutch that far gone. Flywheel wasn't scored, other parts good. But that last cylinder gives you that sinking feeling for sure. This is the first time I've watched anything on that car of yours. I've been watching you work on that mustang. Hope the universe gives you a shot of good luck and satisfaction on good numbers at the end of the track in the future.

Feel the pain. Just pulled apart a 347 with one hour run time because there was too much metal in the first oil change. A piece of debris put a scratch on a rod journal. Fortunately that was it. As for the torino, swap one of those spare v8s in and race until you can have the time and money to get your combo right.

Man. That’s a real shame. If I were in that situation, I’d hope I have some funds to throw at the problem. Grab a cheap piston and swap it as fast as possible. The clutch, you need to go with an aftermarket performance clutch. Twin disc if you’re REALLY feeling ambitious. But either way, find a clutch that’s rated way beyond the torque level you ever think you’ll achieve. Like 1000ft lbs. have that puppy overnighted and get it in there. Alternatively, you could take your time, order up some good strong Wiseco pistons, do research on clutch brands and models, I really would suggest a twin disc unit, then build it up strong for next year.

Unfortunately that's where I'm at I've got a small fortune in this manual swap . I've got to figure out the fastest way to get it back together. I looked at some dual disc setups before but there very expensive

@@HotRodGuyGarage I was able to get a 1000ft lb (single disc) clutch for my LS swap in my Comet, I’ve got to imagine there’s a similar option for Ford’s. I actually went with the 750ft lb clutch instead because even that leaves me headroom for my particular plans.

First off; I'm glad you weren't injured, it's as if you had a premonition that your clutch was going to let loose, with you emphasizing running a cast iron bellhousing, 2nd point is that your 300 Six thinks its a built 429 Cobra Jet, with its psychotic torque output. You may be prudent to give your Torino a day off and; work some more on Ms Daisy's 65 Mustang instead
@HotRodGuyGarage
@HotRodGuyGarage 2 ай бұрын
I always prefer a iron bell if it can be had there strong enough to dealt but soft enough to bend before exploding. And yes this motor made every bit of the torque that the built 460 it replaced made! Working on another mustang video as we speak look for it Saturday morning

Sorry to see a carnage video . Hopefully ram will cover it. As for the engine. Can you get the pan out by jacking the motor slightly off the mounts? If so I think I'd pull the head and pan, pull that piston. If its hurt see if you can find a set of 351w flat, top forged pistons for cheap. , I think they should work with a little bit of rod small end bushing work.
