Turbo 3RZ swapped into an 86 Toyota Turbo Truck with a Haltech

We removed the factory turbo 22RET with the upgraded LCE high boost turbo and the SNP Speed Innovations Haltech Elite 750 Adapter kit out if this 86 Toyota Turbo truck and swapped in a Toyota 3RZ engine. If that's enough to get excited we took the upgraded turbo off of the 22RET and put it on the 3RZ then upgraded the ECU from the Haltech Elite 750 to the Haltech Elite 1500. I got a 4runner with a 3RZ and the 5 speed. I would like to boost it but I’d probably have to end up swapping it with an AR5 tranny cuz I hear the W series aren’t that strong with high hp. But yeah the idea of a turbo 3RZ just gets me #bricked up

My opinion Depending on the power you plan to make, I would start with the trans you have first. This would allow you the time and funds to get the turbo and one of our Haltech kits dialed on low to medium boost and enjoy the 4Runner. While you are having fun you could souce out a trans before you turn the boost up.

SNP do you make an oil pan for IFS or would a small body lift help the pan clear ?

Can i expect a performance improvement just by going Haltech compared to the stock 1998 Toyota ECU?

Yes. The largest gains you will notice will be the low and mid range with gains at the top end as well

Sorry for the late reply. The 550 is more that capable but unfortunately it has been discussed. The 750 is now our base ECU and is a great ECU unless you want more options
