I have wanted to do this to my 9n. Was planning on getting an rhb31 turbo to go on it. I figure if i could boost it up to about 50 hp that would get the full 25 kw out of my pto driven generator i use to run my house tho i dont need that much. Also would make bushogging thick grass a different experience to hit a thick patch and hear it spool up instead of bog. Best i reasearched the internals would easily hold up to it, but i dont think the cooling system would handle it. Oh well. It is a neat thought. Those low compression engines are basicly built to boost. They accept it really well.

@@frederickjeremy the sound alone is worth it haha, but it definitely helps when pulling a blade up my driveway, knock on wood I have had any issues with cooling, but I haven’t run a brush hog with it since adding the turbo

I made a custom manifold for the same turbo on my 8n just could never get it running right so it's just hanging in my garage, needs to be decked a little bit etc but carb fits in stock location for governor

You wanna sell that manifold?

I just saw this! Are familiar with the bracket, pulley, etc that is below your air filter? Those are for a Dearborn 14-4 mid belly moumt sickle bar. Set them aside to have room ror the turbo hardware, lol. Also some parts below the clutch. I've daydreamed about doing this. But for me a Sherman step down low range would be useful. Have fun! I should say if you are new to these, they will do a wheelie and the front flip over and kill you.

When I bought it the guy told me about the sickle bar mount it’s pretty neat and all in really good shape. In the process of remaking the turbo setup at the moment, I just threw this setup together to see if it would actually work . It’s been a lot of fun runs surprisingly well and sounds even better . Thanks for watching!

So I have a rebuilt 9n and I was wanting to turbo it but I was told it would blow the head gasket and is yours oil cooled what psi is your turbo (I’m a little late but hope for a response)
@onemorecastoutdoors6 ай бұрын
I’m keeping it around 5psi anymore then that it doesn’t have enough fuel, I really didn’t think it would work but I wanted to try it , so far it has been working great . The tractor gets worked pretty hard a couple times a week no issues so far , knock on wood

Please finish this project completely and maybe get some dyno numbers🤭😳😳😳😳 I have a ford 640 I really want to do this too. Most online condemn it but you seem to be having success. Can you tell any power increase?
@onemorecastoutdoors7 ай бұрын
I still have some kinks to work out but it’s been great, I’ve been using it hard the last couple weeks you can definitely tell a difference. I will make another video soon

@@onemorecastoutdoors thanks for the reply, I’ll be on the lookout for your next video!

It sure isn’t, but you just watched a video of a China version with a little tweaking running just fine on low boost lol. I never thought it would but it does really well actually
