This remind's me of when I & my Brother Had a shop. We had this school teacher that wanted his bug fixed up. But we did it on the cheap for him. There was a lot of custom work but our client loved it. We actually pie cut or slit the back fenders to widen them. To make it look like a classic ford in the rear end. We painted it in Rose Blood high metallic flake. He was so happy with our workmanship he went out and bought a brand new crate engine. I lost everything because of a dirty cop !!!

Seeing you with the fly in the paint reminds me of a friend who has a body shop he was putting a clear coat on and had a big blue bottle land as he was painting so he just pushed it flat and painted over it and after the paint dried it looked deliberate so he moped and polished the car and as far as I know that fly has been entombed in that roof ever since

the runs have a lot to do with your painting technique. you have to keep the direction your spraying uniform at all times when you change directions and then move to a new spot spray in another direction by the time you get back to that first area the edges have started to dry so if therssses a dry spot it will cause a run.

Try putting window screen material on the intake side of your box fans. The suction will draw weak fliers like mosquitoes and mayflies into the screen and hold them until the fan is turned off. Just don't turn the fans off until the clear flashes, lol

Looks sick. Its different, and different is cool in my book. It's like a 'reversed patina' look. No biggie wetsanding and doing a little buffing. Its pretty much mandatory in any paint job that looks decent. Not like you had a downdraft booth so getting some contaminants on the paint is to be expected. Love the color choice too. You should 'shadowline' those chrome window trims with some satin black. Us BMW guys do it all the time and it really cleans up and modernizes the look. Nice work bruh!

Purchase a couple of bug zappers that are bright and eye catching for the left and right side of the outside facing garage door area entrance. If you can't hang them 4 those pesky bugs put them on a tall stand. Should be out of the way enough of spray or dust from sanding. Should help minimize those pesky lil nippers. I've done this living in Wisconsin next to a lake and has helped loads... 😉 Been working on my 04' Passat 5-speed 1.8 Turbo with the Four Motion. I call it, "The Granny Sleeper." 😁
