Definitely appreciated the cautionary comments. While I'm a big advocate of alternative transportation methods, I find that the marketing and ads for these things to be deceiving and socially irresponsible. Here in California, if you want to stay inside the law and not risk getting fined or having your scooter confiscated, here's what it's _really_ like... (1) you need a license. Car, motorcycle, moped, but you need some kind of license. You can't just hop on and go, like some claim (I'm looking at yo, Varla, who should know better because they're _in_ California. (2) Riding on sidewalks is illegal. (3) Going over 15MPH is illegal. (4) You can only ride on roads with a posted speed limit of 25MPH, or on streets with a designated class 2 bike path. Also, here in SoCal, that favorite bike path down at the beach is probably off limits. Thanks to that plague of rental scooters, most of the beach cities here have completely banned _any_ kind of electric vehicles on their bike paths.

Two things : A big pro on this scooter is the weight limit. Most are only 220. This scooter will accommodate heavier people. For your range test how much do you weigh?

I ordered x8 today cause I bought aovo Pro 365 which was not comfortable to ride with the solid tires. Air tires always needed and 10 inch will be very good

I have this scoot I weigh 225 it goes 20 mph with me on it on a flat surface 22 down hill 9mph up hill 15%grade ...it's a great scooter the ride is buttery smooth

Since my typical use is for 1km hops to and from public EV chargers to charge my brother’s Volt, I use the app to limit our Segway Ninebot to 80% charge. It never even sees a higher charge level so it would probably work a lot better if I let it get to 100%. The limit is intended to preserve the battery until I can get back on my feet with a traditional car and sell it. Yeah: The reason we have to share a car and use public chargers is because an EF-4 tornado carried my car off and crushed it under a tree while ruining 1,800 homes/buildings, displacing both of us to a temporary home with no charger for his car.

Honestly, the range doesn't seem that bad in comparison to other scooters in the same price range. I've seen some scooters say they go 20 miles of range on paper but could be even less due to environmental settings.

Very thorough review! TurboAnt’s website is one of the reasons I ordered the X7 Pro. It tells how they arrive at their claims for range and speed. You showed that the lights can be deactivated when so desired. I will most likely operate in the economy mode, in daylight, and not at full throttle in hopes of reaching a 20 mile range. One can also use the X7 in KICK Mode to extend your range, but I don’t know how to do that. Probably by turning it off completely. The distance traveled and speed going downhill in that manner would probably exceed the benefit of regeneration on short distances. Just guessing 😉

I get 10mls at 11mph on flat ground Got 2 scooters 3 batteries 12.8ah same range as 10ah Fake range,and can't go up hills 😱 Impossible to get 30mls on a 10ah battery My AOVO Pro goes 13mls at 15mph and goes up steep hills 😎

Wondering how this compares to the Hiboy S2R since both have removable batteries. Being able to toss a spare battery in a backpack for extra range is appealing. But on the Hiboy it's locked on the scooter with a key so you're not forced to take the thing with you for a quick run into a store. Looks like they're in the same price range and specs. Range, 350w motors, etc. But the Hiboy's recommended weight limit is 220 which is more typical for motors this size. Wonder if Turboant is being too optimistic? I hover at 250~260 and I've burnt out motors on smaller scooters. If other big boys out there are reading thus, I'd stick with 500w or more to be safe, dual motors if your budget allows.

on the topic of range: my absolute favorite feature is the removable, swappable battery built into the stem. you can easily double or even triple the usable range for just hundred dollars more. Thats a huge deal that i think is kinda glossed over here.

Strangely, my Segway Ninebot ES3 Plus / ES4 has significant FRONT tire wear (no tread left) and the rear tire looks absolutely new. I first noted this when it was less than a month old and 155 miles. Now it’s nearly two months with near constant foot brake usage and the back tire still looks new. I don’t understand it. I had the same concern as you but it doesn’t have a disc brake and the e-Brake isn’t nearly enough so I am forced to use the foot brake often. Guess causing rear tire wear isn’t as big a deal as I thought.

ANY E-bike or scooter i automatically cut their 'max range' in half since i'll be cruising as fast as I can instead of 10mph plus add in hills and wind.. For those handlebars, pick up some 'thread locker' and apply some before tightening the handlebars. I'm 10k and an hour short of your range test, on and almost flat test track, averaging 30km/h, same weight as you. I'm really struggling to understand the disparities in range figures I'm seeing on KZbin. I'm seeing several people saying they're getting 25k on mode 3, then there's a guy who got a very similar range as me (13-15k). Have you got the Panasonic battery? 34 minutes and 15k to me is just a massive letdown, max speed or not.

Just got X8 (Hover - 1 Blackhawk edition) the range is amazing, and overall i love this scooter, I noticed that i have 1st Gen battery which cost 300$ but 2nd generation you can get for 185$ - 200$ however the connection pins on 2nd gen looks different, would it even fit to existing X8 socket? thanks for the video!

I have a question for you but I need an actual response. Are those pneumatic tires air tires because they probably say pneumatic tires because it don't want to let you know that it's not air tires because some people prefer air tires over tube tires. And also are they puncture proof. Also does it come with a secondary battery as to replace it with one that you're using at the moment when the first one is without charge

I've had a small amount of clanking from the fact that this scooter does fold. Nothing concerning though. The disc brake did make some noise originally but has stopped after a week of use. And as for the battery I've never had an issue. Mine is super solid.

Got my first on 6/1 and it didn't even run out of the box. After a month of ghosting me between emails, they sent me a replacement throttle (THAT'S NOT EVEN COMPATIBLE) along with lack of instructions. May never get a replacement OR my money back. Awful

@@CSPTech the stem of my wife's scooter sounds like a wood plank in a 18th century home and mine came with a minor warped disk brake that just makes allot of road noise. It helped adjusting the brake but nothing has seemed to fix this stem noise. I appreciate your help and replies. 💯
