Hi there I hope this letter finds you well, albeit under less than ideal circumstances. I am writing to you with a mixture of sincere apologies and frustration concerning the recent removal of my videos from KZbin. I've been informed that JP EGD believes my videos contravene the South African Copyright Act 12-4, particularly in the context of educational purposes. I understand their perspective, as they are in the process of selling a PowerPoint presentation, and my free educational videos were seen as an obstacle to their ability to monetize similar content. First and foremost, I want to express my genuine sorrow for any disruption this situation may have caused. My intention has always been to contribute positively to the educational community by providing valuable content without cost. I had no desire to impede the efforts of others, and I deeply regret any unintended consequences that may have arisen. At the same time, I must share my frustration over the necessity of removing content that was created with the sole purpose of assisting in the education of others. The clash between the spirit of open learning and the commercialization of educational materials is indeed disheartening. While I understand the need to respect copyright regulations, I am saddened that this situation has led to the removal of valuable resources that could benefit students and educators alike. I am left with a sense of disappointment and anger over the limitations imposed on the free dissemination of educational content. In compliance with JP EGD's request, I have taken down the videos from the KZbin platform. However, I cannot help but feel conflicted about the broader implications this has on the accessibility of educational resources. I appreciate your understanding and hope that, despite these challenges, we can collectively work towards a more balanced and inclusive approach to sharing educational content. I remain committed to contributing positively to the educational community and will continue to explore avenues that align with copyright regulations while promoting open access to knowledge. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to navigating these complexities with the best interests of education in mind. Sincerely, Geoffrey Comins
