Home made crosbow carbine

Unlike the last two silly crossbows, i wanted to make something that was actually pleasant to shoot without fear of decapitation and also teach myself how to build more complex triggers and have a testbed for different bolt designs (the bolts in this video are rubbish)

I'm sure you are a talented man and I know how it feels to have idle hands. Check out the "men's shed association" was an Australian idea that's come to the UK, the idea is it gives blokes a few minutes away from their Mrs, access to tools and space, and I'm sure someone with experience with doing things properly would be warmly welcomed.

it is necessary to use the polyspast system for easy tensioning, in two stages it will be easier to pull the string

your skills are amazing,you're driving me nuts not wearing a dust mask and eye protection,when you make these bolts again,use the pushrods out of a Chrysler slant six pushrod,they are long,lighter and fly superstraight,excellent job master craftsman

You need to mount your bow tilted slightly forward to stop the string arching over and scraping along the body. It should increase efficiency dramatically. Awesome build.

If you angled the socket that the bow fit into so that the string just barely touched the surface of the stock you'd make the crossbow a lot more efficient, great video and crossbow anyway.

Dear TCME I blew up the switches on two cheapo 4.5" angle grinders, this is the type with the long plastic transfer bar to the actual switch. I as thinking of just bypassing the switch and installing inline switches about a foot back from the end of the grinder. There is nothing wrong with the grinders except for the crappy switch modules which are impossible to source online including from the importer (King Canada) anyways.

I like being able to operate a grinder one handed, i would probably metal putty and tape a rocker switch near my thumb. Getting a couple of half decent grinders was a game changer for me, i still have cheap ones but they only come out when I'm doing dirty stuff like masonry or fixing cars in the rain! The cheapest Hitachi is less than double the price of the cheapest cheapo grinder but having a silky gearbox and bearings is worth every penny.
