yes we can. The 1.6 would need a lot smaller of a turbo to keep the lowend power. Around t28 size, and bigger will make it pretty much all topend power. For the 2.4L you can go to a 60mm by 82mm biller wheel and still spool around 3500rpm to 3800rpm.

theres really no plug n play options when it comes to turbos. meaning any sort of turbo that differentiates from your previous one will require your ecu needing a new tune.

Garrett has a lot of hp ratings of their turbos on there website. I’m guessing 450 hp. The turbine housing and turbine size makes a difference. If you step up to the gtx3071r or gtx3076r the hp potential should be close to 500 gtx3071r and 550 for the gtx3076r. Just changing to a larger turbine housing can increase the ho as well.

the shaft splitted in half, i believe because of oil starvation in my subaru forester. that happen twice in two weeks, i went through two turbos. so now i have no more money, and im hesitant to buy a repair kit for don't know if the turbo body might have damage, or hesitant because i don't know if i'll get ripped off.

Haha austin's marketing is coming to the for front...to bad i just sold my vf39 could have gotten that upgraded! Say ill be sending my holset hx40 60mm i spend the whole evening getting the exhaust housing bolts out...will pound the turbine housing off the center section and sending it in. Ill put some details and instructions in the box. If i send you guys a pte5031 could you guys find a subaru exhaust housing to make it work? and or could guys port out a tdo4 stock subaru housing to fit the two together :)?

+superboogen there aren't any Subaru turbine housings designed to fit a to4e style bearing housing that I know of. There are some for the ball bearing gt series, and tdo5 and tdo6. The tdo4 can be machined to the tdo4hl but that's the limit .

hey man i have a question, i have an 05 Subaru forester 2.5 and the turbo broke on me, the mechanic changed the turbo and 20 minutes later on the highway the turbo broke again, so not im getting a third tubo but the mechanic said that he needs to swap the banjo bolt that feeds the turbo for theres a lot of oil pressure and that is causing the turbo to fail. and after researching i find that its the oposite. what do you think? oil starvation or high oil pressure?

It’s really common actually, there are 3 screens or filters in the head, when they get dirty they restrict oil pressure to the head and turbo. The turbo will whine as a result of low oil pressure.

TrumpTards first you need to be sure your dealership will let you, a turbo is a big modification that requires a lot of changes to a car. depending on the turbo you may need a new exhaust manifold and intercooler. I'd recommend a turbo that can work with the stock exhaust manifold, but you'll need to upgrade the intercooler to maximise hp. you'll also need larger fuel injectors and an ECU tune.

I got my 2006 (ej25) WRX used with 32k miles a couple years ago, was in GREAT shape. No bolt-on mods that I could tell, completely stock...IKR. At WOT the boost would max between 8.7psi and 9.8psi. Even now after a Cobb stage 2 (CAI&DP&AP), on the 93HWG map I still don't see boost higher than 9.8psi. BCS is fine, BPV is fine, Wastegate is fine, No vac leak, system holds 20+psi with a pressure test. The only problem I know about it the EGR is stuck in the (closed) position. You know if I'm asking You Tube I'm bored as hell and a little desperate. Anyone have any ideas?????

Allie Marie You gonna need an STi drivetrain also. A stock LGT 5spd won't hold that much power.

you need forged internals or sleeved block past 400 hp , youre gonna blow it up if you go above that , its a hella costy job to take it from 300 ish to over 400 new turbo most likely will need a front mount intercooler to allow that much heat to go through , and work on block aswell to support these high hps

Randy Rawleigh how you doing man? 20G on the legacy with a stock tmic is not reliable unless at low boost psi I run a top mount grimspeed for my lgt and that thing is a monster will hold quite a bit of boost and reliable on a 20g
