"Perhaps there is no purpose" is an assumption, do you want to know the truth? In life purpose is EVERYTHING. There is nothing in this life that was not made for a certain reason. For example, Michael Jordan was made for basketball, Michael Jackson was made to dance, Ronaldo was made to score goals, food was made to be eaten, cars were made to transport us etc This does not mean it can only do one thing but rather there is one good thing that comes naturally to it or him. Just look around and you will see people who are SO good at what they do that they MUST have been born to do that. So go find your purpose in life and live a fulfilled life. By the way, there is nothing wrong with having fun.

I have noticed that for a lot of people, once they make up their mind on a subject it is difficult for them to change. Let's start from the basics. Purpose - is an intended or desired result; the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used (dictionary.reference.com) OK, i believe you have heard this statement "Life is a journey" . Question? If it is a journey what is the destination?  What is your brain for?  What do you use your eyes for?  Why do you go school?  Why do you work?  If you are to answer all these questions, you will notice that all of the answers have one major thing in common. INTENT Everything was used to do something to get a desired result. And that is Purpose. Note: Not everyone is good at having fun. Some people are plain BORING.

@Alexandre Morissette far too close for any respectable dive instructor to ever even suggest the sorts of shenanigans they are pulling off when they are basically doing low opening jumps alongside a large object which if god forbid their chute gets yanked towards the building it can go wrong VERY quickly. Its why I will never understand "base jumping" in a cityscape. There are enough variables to consider in a jump to begin with but to add in the unpredictable gusts you get from around large structures, lots of hazards on the ground, etc. Large buildings can create a vortex around their superstructure that can be incredibly dangerous but if you go toa place with ALOT of tall buildings in all those lovely straight roads you essentially are jumping down into very narrow artificial "canyons" which have winds and crosswinds that are incredibly strong.

I dabbled in skydiving before I had kids. I met a few guys that did base and they're a different breed. If you talk to them they know this will be there end, no reserve, no room for error line twist ect. I had two jumps that would've been fatal if it were base, both were line overs that took what seemed like an eternity to fix.

There's actually a special permit you need, you need to have been sky diving, or base jumping for a certain amount of time, and you need to have done a certain amount of jump so to be able to go off this one.

Yes, they pull the ripcord out with their hand. Skydiving minimum age depends on where you do it. I'm doing my first this weekend and am 17. I'm doing it in the UK, where the minimum age is 16. Some countries set the minimum age at 18.

There are no ripcords on these rigs. It's called a pilot chute. Essentially a small chute you throw that catches air and pulls the main chute out of the container

Not necessarily, right now I could jump multiple times without a parachute, however if you tried to base jump without one I doubt you would be able to do that again.

I got vertigo just seeing the edge of the building. Crap! I can't do that. Too scared. I would like to ask if all the parachutes are the same. There was a guy who threw his parachute between his legs at 4:03 is that a different parachute or can all the parachutes do that instead of being pulled from the back like most do? What is the minimum height of deployment for those parachutes?
