Turbo oil seals utilize a compression ring/split ring type design and are not a 'true' oil seal. Turbos rely on a very good drain, low engine crankcase pressure, and oil slingers to prevent oil leakage into Intake or Exhaust.
Keep this in mind before you replace a turbo that is leaking oil!
