[Turf Builder Triple Action] When/How to Apply for Beginners, Easy DIY Lawncare, Do's and Don'ts

This is a How-to video for easy DIY lawncare application of Turf Builder Triple Action from Scotts.
I am applying this product in Spring to kill existing weeds, prevent weeds (esp. crabgrass) from emerging and also feed the lawn.
Watch for instructions and Do's and Don'ts for easy DIY application!!
Beware that the chemicals in the product can be irritants so make sure you wear long sleeves, gloves and proper shoes!

I used this stuff last summer Then I used it again in November I put down Scott’s triple action for winter ❄️. And this year. Not even 1 bad weed came out on my lawn Now I am going to put down 1 more application. Btw my grass looks amazing It’s used to look yellow and dead. Now it’s green and healthy. And I do exactly as this video said.

I think that for better results you are supposed to wet the lawn and then spread the triple action so that it sticks to the weed's leaves and absorbs it better.

If you’re talking about seeding, you’ll need to water every day for about 3 weeks. For how much you’re watering, you can use an empty can like tuna can then measure it while you water

I think you could do that although I haven’t tried. As long as the lawn is wet it will do its killing. Pre-emergence and feeding of it shouldn’t be affected much by those processes

1st and second row of applying were way too close lolz. But from what I have seen, applying right before a rain is the best for this type of stuff

Seems like timing is the key for the application, but still it will work great as pre-emergent and fertilizer

The 1st problem is the application. The bag tells you that the lawn must wet from morning dew, a previous rain, or use your irrigation. After that, then apply the product to the wet grass to the product can stick better.

I found out that you are Korean through the comments. In Korea, it is actually difficult to find herbicides or controls for western lawns. I am looking for a product to apply to Perennial Ryegrass. Dandelion and crabgrass are the main targets for removal. My question is to know if this product can only remove weeds without harming Perennial Ryegrass. Sorry for the late response. Yes, this product is indeed intended to get the dandelions and crabgrass without harming the perennial ryegrass. However, as I have posted in my one and two months review, it didn’t work… if you look at the comments to my review videos, you’ll see that I should have done more proper job when applying, but I would just say that it is not that easy to see success with this product. All conditions need to be met in order for it to work. Btw, I am Korean but I am living in the US and my videos are all intended for people in the US, as all the products are those that are available in the US. I'm stuck and Don t have any idea what to do. I used weed and feed after 30 days I put milorganite day after eight days I have large areas with burned lawn. How'd I fix ? Thank you

Thanks for watching! Since you mention milorganite, I am guessing that it might be a fungal outbreak rather than a burn. You could get antifungal lawn products from local hardware stores. Good luck!!

You’re supposed to do it when the grass is wet or it won’t work, kills through the leaves and flowers when it sticks to it, not when it’s dry because it doesn’t work through the roots

This will kill weeds and prevent weeds. Also it feeds the lawn but if there was no grass in the first place, I doubt it will make it greener.

This is just way too tricky! I have a 20 lb bag of Scotts Turf Builder and a Scotts Mini spreader. I don’t have a clue how much to use or what setting to use. I swear this information is not on the bag! How did you come up with a setting of 4.5?

You said to wait 24 hours before applying water however at the end of the video you staited the grass must be wet before applying so which one is it?

Yeah so grass needs to be wet before application to allow the product to stick to the leaves and get absorbed. After the application, the remaining product should be watered down so that it can mainly act as a preemergent. Thanks for watching!

Hi, according to the label, pendimethalin and dicamba are the main active ingredients as pre-emergent. They both prevent many various weeds not only crabgrass. Thanks for watching!

How much to use?

It’s labeled in the bag (e.g. for 6000 sqft). Actual amount distributed to your lawn is determined by the setting of the spreader. The setting info should also be on the bag. Mine was indicated as 4.5 and that was why I set it that way in the video. Thanks for watching!
