@wonda preach , Haiti's # 1 problem right now is no longer hunger, but insecurity. How can you and I solve that problem? If Haiti was a peaceful country, no one would need to ask anyone to go help. Distance makes the heart grow fonder. The further you are from Haiti, the more patriotic you become. You see, Haiti doesn't need it's Diaspora, otherwise they wouldn't be handing out assault weapons to thugs to make the country unlivable. I would highly question your sanity if you would send your kids to Haiti to help right now.

@wonda preach, I should be able to live comfortably because I have done everything that was required of me. I went to College. I got a career that allows me to take care of my family. However, I am not happy for one reason. The level of degradation of our country makes me lose a lot of sleep. I've been thinking a lot about the solutions for our problems. I've come to realize that our problems are not that complex. First off, we have to curb our egotism and greed. We also need to agree on a management plan for the country for the next 30 to 50 years. Each Administration that got elected must follow the plan to the letter. The idea of building a clinic here and constructing 2 km of road there is like putting bandaid on a wound that needs to be sutured. We need to start solving problems, and by that I mean that each Administration should concentrate on solving one or two problems during their term in office. For example one government can solve the insecurity issue. The next one can solve the agriculture and environment problems and so forth. If common sense kicks in and Haiti choose to embrace this approach, we should be an emerging nation in the next 50 years.

Ascension ...let’s start off with your two dimensional MAPS of port-au-prince and maybe the whole republic that int’l. architectural schools can use in their URBAN PLANNING and LANDSCAPE DESIGN programs...maybe we can even dream of a BUILDING DEPARTMENT OF HAITI

Ascencio* (Only one "s",one "n" and two "c" lol) Let's say we have billions and the perfect team for any project, it will never work in Haiti, for instance, international developers and investors don't invest here. The question is: why ? My opinion is : We don't have a judicial system that reinforce the laws. For instance, we are supposed to leave 2 meters for sidewalks. Do you know that since I know that they won't reinforce it, I won't leave the 2 meters if I have the choice? ...the reason is simple, most people who left it have a "tisourit" at night in front of their house, or some type of informal business (machann) in front of their house. Since there's no one reinforcing the law, everyone is acting strategically in their own interest, while outsiders are listing what's wrong, and giving all type of elaborated solution while forgetting one crucial factor: Judicial system !

wonda preach Love the fact that you mentioned « Get it right » because that’s exactly what I will try to do with the following question : Can you please quote what I wrote that made you perceived that it is impossible ? Please help me get it right (in your perception) 😝

@wonda preach Your initial comment communicated that I made it seem impossible to rebuild the departments. My solution : We need a strong judicial system. You solution : The whole government needs to go. I suppose, in your perception, your solution is more feasible than mine since you mentionned that I made it seem impossible. Let's say that I agree. The haitian government is very informal, meaning, they don't have an intelligent system of networks that they can rely on, so if everyone is gone, where would we start ? My approach suggest that whether its the government or the private sector, we need to take out the bad apples through the legal system. I already got your opinion on my approach, which is : I made it seem impossible / Get it Right. What I love about written communication is that you can refer back to what was written.
