Bout that time! My daughter is showing an interest in turkey hunting this year, so it looks my season will get to start a week earlier this year in NC. You and Dave Owens are true masters and woodsmen! Now if i can just find some .410 tss loads for my daughter, think my 12 may be alittle much for her shoulder! Good luck this season and stay safe

About 5 mins in or so when you guys decide to start crawling closer, a crow squawks and you both simultaneously pause, wait a second for a gobble, then simultaneously start moving again. Almost like it was panned. Lol. Many years in the turkey woods.

Yeah, it usually is. Great habitat and probably why the wildlife does so well up here. Thick enough to provide food and cover but open enough for wildlife to easily move around.

Hey Shane, I have been watching the videos and I am curious what kind of camera you have on the selfie stick? That is definitely not any Go Pro I have seen before. I like how it can be rotated to a 360 look and the stick itself is not in the view. Another great video fellas!!

@@ShaneSimpsonHunting Shane how do you have that pin secured to your hat? My cousin had a ruffed grouse pin on the bill of his cap. After one outing it was gone. Knocked off by all the brush he went through.

My turkey pin is pretty tight and so far hasn't been an issue for me. I did have an antler pin that didn't grip as well so I just bent it a little to tighten it up.

That was interesting, tell me why should that gobbler come in ? they expect hen to come to them, by crawling toward him and calling you were doing what he wanted! He could hear you crawl hear you talk hear you call, Question if you had been the gobbler what would you have done?yep gone away stop playing with over calling, never seems to work.

I realize an edited/condensed video doesn't always convey very well everything that happened but I didn't call much at all at the beginning. We sat quietly waiting for a long period before realizing the gobbler was content staying put so we made the decision to get more aggressive. The entire ordeal lasted more than 2 hours.
