Wali Bhai, the rates you mentioned, believe me that Turkey is still cheaper than Karachi.Careem charging around 700-800 rupees for only 10 kilometers, which is 50 to 60 Turkish lira. Milk Price is same 25 LIRA (330 PKR). After spending so much, you are living a quality life there, you also know the condition of the vehicles and the roads of Karachi. You cannot compare anything from Istanbul to Karachi. Yes, rent is more but if you are living in Istanbul & in return, you're paying 5000 TL extra it is not a bad deal.

85% increase per their official figures is a joke. I 100% agree with your analysis. From your various items' prices comparisons with 2 years past, it is more like 400-500% increase in prices. As a single traveler, I was in Istanbul Sept 15 - Dec 15, 2022. I had a nice 3+1 apartment, and the rent was 18000 liras, I was spending generously which was another 18000 liras per month. So, my travel budget was about 36000 liras (US $2000) per month. Which compared to California was dirt cheap since a 1+1 apartment alone will cost you $2500/month here. I felt that Turkey was very affordable, provided you earn in $, but I really wonder how difficult life must have become for locals just over the past 2-3 years. The situation of an average middle class family in Türkiye is almost as bad as Pakistan now. It is really very sad; may Allah help us all. Ameen

Suppose I have a budget of 3 thousand US dollars coming each month from my savings in the US..... my question would be.... can I live peacefully in this budget in any suburban city or a clean village in mountains where I can daily hear Azan 5 times??? I am a Pakistani born American Physician, and Alhamdolillah I have lived a privileged life. I have no desire to go back to Pakistan which I left decades ago. If ever I leave America, I would want to settle and die in Turkia... a country and a culture very close to my heart.
