Clearly based on the statistics presented here the Turkish platform is superior. It needs less crew, has further range, more engine power. Has 2 helicopters instead of 1 in the French frigate. Also the French system is very old where as the Turkish design is new cutting edge and has already sold their frigates to Pakistan, Ukraine and Qatar. There are several other unknown countries that are interested in purchasing as well. Turkey wins!!

I-Class Turkish Frigate is more modern than La Fayette. It is really normal because La Fayette's desing not a new desing. Turkish war ship includes new techs and futures. But, Turkiye have to test and improve it's national VLS sytem and SAMs. Turkish Navy have just tried its Hisar D RF SAM for first time. Yes SSM(Atmaca) is really perfect weopon on the other hand, current Turkish SAM has a booster and can not support quadpack in VLS cells. It is a minus. But Turks are developing their SAM's every single day. They will launch long range and high altitude SAMs without booster. For further years, this wont be minus for I-Class.

It does though. First of all the FDI's commission date is really far off right now and it's actually closer to Turkish 8,500 ton TF-2000 frigates. The difference though the FDI has 32 VLS while ISTIF has just 16. But ISTIF can carry 2 S-70b helis while FDI can carry only one NH-90. So in conclusion ISTIF is actually better against subs, while FDI has better at air defense. But the real difference is that ISTIF costs about half of the FDI and 1/3 of the FREMM which is another French frigate.

That's like saying the Ada class corvettes suck. But in reality they don't. Heybeliada, Kinaliada, Burgazada and Buyukada are all really capable vessels. The same goes for the Istanbul class frigates. The F-515 will undoubtedly give a boost to the Turkish Navy.
