It's cool but after you stick on the leds and after your done and have to fold up the drone You have to take the leds off or will they fold with it. If not it won't keep sticking

On my mavic Air 2S I secured them with just zip ties on either side of the folding joints was able to cover both of the front arms and the entire body with super bright LED's, and still fold it up and use the case normally, there's a tutorial on my KZbin. On my FPV drones that I crash a lot I had to resecure them with a dab of super glue on the carbon fiber (trees are dicks, but concrete is worse😂) My DJI mavic drones are just secured with zip ties and included 3M backing so that the finish of the drone is not damaged and it can be removed without marring the surface 👍 It can help to prep the surface by cleaning with isopropyl alcohol before you apply.

These new strips are really slick, back in the day we had EL Wire which had a very short life before large splotches of the wire would just die.

The EL wire at best is as bright as these at their worst, and these dont need the loud humming driver boxes 👌 i've been having these manufactured for drones, and making newer, better designs all the time 🙌

Does not need to be "an external power supply" You just need to hook it up to a 5v somewhere on your freestyle/race quad. I get not wanting to void your warranty on something like those but we Freestyle guys dont need no stinking warranty

The reason those don't satisfy FAA UAS Part 107 rules is that your anti-collision light must be visible from 3 miles, colored white or red/white, and they need to strobe between 40 and 100 times/min. While that's probably visible from 3mi, being green and unblinking means they don't qualify.

Just received the lights they were fully lit but as I started to install around the drone when I inserted the battery I noticed that their were gaps that were not lighting up I think it would be better to do some more research in providing a better product for the price its not worth it

There's got to be an easy mod to pull juice from a DJI Mini 3... What is the power draw for the lights.. (yes it will lower your time, but it's once in a while.

The draw is only .2amps for a full meter at 12v. If you're electrically inclinded, get the 3-4S strips instead of the kits, and 12v regulator...and solder right to the main board. The kits are less than 20grams with battery, and designed to be universal and easy to apply without disassembly of the drone, and without voiding any warranties.

If you are comfortable soldering to your DJI drone motherboard, then you should be confident enough to run a multimeter and find an unused pad or a "test pad" on the board somewhere that is low power, and then a ground.

You can, but the DJI kits are made specifially to help pilots avoid soldering. If you want to wire your own, just grab the raw strips and you're good to go!

I believe it’s because of this rule change for part 107: Operation over Moving Vehicles In a change from the NPRM, the final rule permits operations over moving vehicles, provided the small unmanned aircraft operation meets the requirements of Category 1, 2 or 3 and either: The small unmanned aircraft must remain within or over a closed- or restricted-access site, and all people inside a moving vehicle within the closed- or restricted-access site must be on notice that a small unmanned aircraft may fly over them; or The small unmanned aircraft does not maintain sustained flight over moving vehicles.

The 12v strips only draw 0.2amps, so not very much. A 1500mAh 3S will run for 7-8 hours. They can handle up to 17 volts, and even brighter at 4S.
