Can you please explain to me the funtion of the star button. I know how the quick mode works on the camera, but I can not find the use of quick mode on the remote. Whether i press 1 or 3 seconds, the gopro hero 10 stay on after i stop recording Thx

The star function is sort of like the quick mode to your favorite mode on the GoPro. In other words...the star function is your favorite GoPro mode that you can quickly access when you press it. I don't know why ur GoPro stays on after the recording stops. 🤔 Did you use your remote to stop recording? If so, are you sure that you press the correct button on the remote to power ur GoPro off? Sometimes, you may just have to pair them again, especially if you haven't used them recently. But if you did initially use the remote to power on ur GoPro, to start and stop recording, then you should be able to also power ur GoPro off as well with the remote. Thx Joy for the quick reply. Matbesempie i or my question wrong. On the camera, in OFF mode... I u press the shutter button, it immediately start to record ( of quick mode is enabled in the settings). When you press the shutter again, it stop recording, AND switch the camera OFF. I am looking for this same functionality on the remote. The star button on the remote (although called quick mode button), do not provide this functionality. I need to switch the camera Off with the remote after recording.

Ok, I understand ur question now. I'm not sure if the remote can do that...it may...but I'm just not sure about it, and I don't have the instructions. But it would be nice if you could program that in your favorite mode. But again, to answer your question...if it can be done on the remote, I'm not sure how to do it. Blessings!❤

I have same setup. Have you tried using this remote with the gopro quick capture mode? Mine doesn't seem to work with quick capture enabled. Also power shut down on the gopro 12 does not work properly using this remote. When the camera shuts down from your power setting in the GP12 and your remote is still powered on it immediately restarts the GP12. Any way you might get this remote to work with the quick capture function on the GP12? Thanks

Hey there! So, I upgraded to the new GoPro 12, and the remote works great for powering it off and on. But I don't think the quick capture feature works with the remote. I guess that's because you have to manually turn on the GoPro, and then it turns off automatically. (I'm just guessing here since I haven't tried that function.) Anyway, to make sure your remote works properly for turning the GoPro on and off, try disconnecting and reconnecting it. Then, manually power on your GoPro, and then power it off using the remote. Wait a few minutes, and then try powering your GoPro back on again with the remote. I hope that makes sense. But yeah, I haven't had any issues powering my GoPro12 off and on using the remote.
