Even if you swear you’re not handy in the kitchen, this homemade butter churner lets you make your own butter in about 10 minutes. It’s as easy as turning the handle.
Kilner has been England’s trusted name for glass since the 1840’s, so they were the right folks to revamp the old-school butter churner.
Theirs follows the original design but with a few modern tweaks. The gears are made from stainless steel to wash easily and avoid rust, while the paddles and lid seal are made from food grade silicone.
All you need is heavy cream and a little effort. When the butter takes shape, you’ll also have buttermilk-a tasty byproduct-to cook and bake with, too.
Once you see how simple it is, you’ll be a churning convert. This 21st century update on the standard churner makes it easy.

I made butter yesterday in my electric mixer it took just 3 mins and I got some amazing butter. I hear that this kilner butter churner takes longer then 10 mins, it actually takes about 40 mins...check other videos on KZbin on this before you buy! 🙂

I am glad to see a decent price on this item. Many of the products on this site are a little bit expensive.

The cost is actually higher on sites as ebay or amazon, but at this site they do charge for shipping which varies, depending upon where you live. I just purchased one, but the shipping would have been free if I had spent over $50 bucks there. I just did not need anything else to go with this, but I still find it to be a good deal. The Dasey #4 butter churns are probably the most popular in something that is a quart size creamer. They are not cheap for the most part on amazon, ebay or at your local antique store. This one is what I am going for, even though I did find an off brand creamer at an antique store yesterday. I was trying to find out if this creamer can be cleaned up in the dishwasher or not.

Not for nothing, but a simple search on Amazon. Will show you that the price isn't worth the effort... the gears grind up and chip away because they aren't made well enough YET. I'm sure they will fix it when the current supply runs through... marbles in a mason jar will do the trick just the same. At a 3rd of the price, with the same effort... just shaking vs turning. Granted you will need to fish the marbles out after, but you will need to clean this contraption too. Give it to a kid if there is one in the house. They love it! Lol

you can literally do this with a hand mixer or even a whisk if you have the arm strength. idk why people think butter is this mystical thing. my mum use to make butter every few days with just our old stand mixer.

Can this creamer be disassembled and cleaned in the dishwasher or not? Do the moving parts ever need any lubrication of any sort?

Where is everyone getting the cream ?

You can purchase heavy cream at virtually any market or grocery store. You can also use non-homogenized for this and you can also go to a local dairy farm and ask for cream. It does not have to be organic, either. Lots of options in what you use, Aaron. Good luck.

seems lately they adulterate butter with lard so it is better to make one's own butter, especially for vegetarians

I know it has silicone paddles, but otherwise it looks just like the one my dad grew up using ! Well, once they could afford it, anyway... they just passed around a jar of cream and took turns shaking it before that...

At age 70 and with rheumatoid arthritis, shaking a creamer jar for any length of time would play havoc on my bones pretty quickly. My grip is not what it used to be, either, so a mason jar of any real size would be a risk for me to handle in shaking. :-)
