The first time I saw the Ace Attorney franchise, I genuinely thought I would never see such professional or competent moments coming from Phoenix Wright or our beloved judge. If there is one thing I feel is missing from this retelling, it's that Mia was allowed to leave free on the first day, when she should by all means be at the hospital. On the same vein, have Phoenix ask about her injury. It's the head she was hit in, for heaven's sake 😂 All in all, I dig this story.

@@dylanzlol7293 What I mean is that arresting Phoenix Wright with absolutely zero evidence is probably one of the most unlawful arrests in the series. The legality of the matter is never questioned and no one is ever punished for it, even after White is arrested for the crime. Not to mention about Maya. Is she officially declared innocent because of this? That was never explained. Edgeworth doesn't even try to explain why April May would lie about Maya killing Mia if Phoenix was the one who did it... probably to hide the level of bullshitting that would require. In the original it would have made more sense for Redd White to either just name Phoenix Wright as an accomplice to Maya, or to just have his guards take Pheonix and lock him up somewhere until the trial was over.

Well... even after Phoenix did prove that he could stand on his own against April May, Redd White is a *whole* other story. She doesn't want to share too much information with Phoenix because she fears he could possibly get hurt while trying to "bash" in on Redd White too early. She wanted to deal with Redd herself to "protect" Phoenix, thus. As for the kidnapping stuff... well, the next part aims to solve that!

the removal of the plotpoint of phoenix wright getting accused make sense to me since well the plotpoint in this case was most likley a holdover from the original games beta were phoenix wright was going to be a detective though with all the plot changes so far im half expecting mia to be hiding somekind of injury

This is a really interesting take. Personally, I feel the Farewell, My Turnabout scenario would have been a great way to kill off Mia Fey and introduce the likes of de Killer, White and Godot. Maybe even involve the Skye siblings again with Ema being kidnapped by de Killer for Wright’s cooperation.
