Should You Use Heavy Duty or Fume Free Oven Cleaner?
Easy Off, among other brands, makes both Heavy Duty and Fume Free Oven Cleaner.
I am a big fan of Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner because it works better. The disadvantage is the "Heavy Fume" that it has. It is powerful, and you do not want to breath it in!!
Fume Free Oven Cleaner is excellent at cleaning, but not quite as good. It does have a pleasant smell.
But, if you are going to clean you oven. Clean it with Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner! Just hold your breath, or wear a mask while you are spraying!!

I use this one and very effective. Even years of dirt in the oven it can remove but you have to spray and wipe sevral times if your oven is really dirty. You have to let it stay for at least 30 minutes then wipe off wet paper towels a few times then with dry paper towels or clean cloth. If you see some white residue wipe again with wet cloth. Leave the oven door open to completely dry. You must open your windows because it has very strong odor. I use a mask so i wont inhale the chemical. I also turn on the kitchen exhaust fan for some minutes. Use gloves. This is the only product i've found truly effective.

PLEASE READ THIS: base on my experience from Easy Off---->>the scratches test is important, inside the same oven different part for example, the bottom part will scratch very bad with easy off, but on the 3 side and door are just fine. and my glass stove (use only on the glass part) top also fine, but don't use on other part of your glass stove top, mine turn horrible, i didn't test first so i have some scratches spot from it.

It probably be helpful to use a mask too. It has a strong smell but it does work wonders. I usually buy the dollar general brand. It works good also. Tfs

@@adamljohnson I tried one of the discount brands from the $1.25 store and it didn't do jack -- sprayed it on heavy, left it overnight, and it took off less grease than if I'd just used a plain paper towel without spraying. Sprayed and left overnight a second time and got equally ineffective results. Easy-Off is one product where I lean strongly toward being brand-loyal.

Pre heat oven then spray and wait 20 to 30 mins and wipe off. And don’t ever use a puma scrub it will scratch the hell out of your oven. The same goes for microwave spray with a little soap bottle turn on microwave for 20 to 30 second and wipe out. Don’t waste your time scrubbing and making yourself tired.

A sure way to damage/remove finish from cabinets and floors if not covered before spraying. Also preheat to 200deg. before spraying and let sit over night.

I was shocked when you started spraying it so uncarefully like that. I am always careful to not spray it on the coil and the metal and I certainly don't use it on the cloth lining that prevents the door from making a loud noise or scraping when you close the door. I don't spray the glass window either. I just sprayed into a ceramic dish several times, and then use a cotton swab and cotton balls to dip into it and then apply it to only the black spots. I felt to tired to wipe it off immediately before it dried, so now I have dried-on spots of "Easy-Off" and I don't know it it was all for naught. As in, you MUST wipe it off while it's still wet (but after sitting for several minutes, like 20 minutes), or else the black spots will just dry back onto your oven's enamel surface. I'm not a chemsist and I don't work for Easy-Off so I don't know. Would you know if I used a cotton ball that has been dipped in water to wipe off the dried Easy-Off residue, would that work?

Yes, I know that I can wipe off the white residue from the Easy-Off. That is not what I'm worried about. I'm worried about WASTING Easy-Off. I am poor. I don't have much money. So I don't want to have to keep purchasing bottles of Easy-Off. Easy-Off is expensive for me, so I want to use as little as possible. I know that when the Easy-Off is still wet, it makes the dark brown dots emulsify and become liquid and the brown liquid intermingles with the white liquid of the Easy-Off. So, don't I need to wipe off the dark brown liquid before it dries and becomes a dark brown hardened-on flat circle?

You can just use baking soda and vinegar. Both are $1 each at the dollar store. Easy off is extremely toxic and should be used with extreme caution. He sprayed it in the coils which is very bad to do. Next time this person uses their oven they are inhaling and eating caustic fumes.

You are NOT using a "Scotch Brite" pad. It's a stainless steel scrubbing pad. And THOSE suckers will scratch like crazy. The pumice stone doesn't scratch PORCELAIN which is much harder than pumice. A pumice stone is absolutely going to scratch your nice shiny surface like a cat in heat! Oh, and the name of your cleaner is, "Easy Off" not "Oven Off". Other than that, nice job.

Just wipe it off with soap and water well. I always turn the oven on 375 for 30 minutes after I finish to make sure all the chemicals are gone.

I just got some and sprayed it on. Mine is heavy duty with a "Fresh Scent". Opened all my windows and have two fans on. Had to wash out my nose. The "fresh scent" is really, really strong. I'm waiting to see how it goes.

I actually just cleaned my grates with the same thing- I took them to the backyard and sprayed it, kept it for an hour- it was amazing - next time I will keep them for longer- but it DID ruin my grass 😩🙄 after being exposed to the sun - so look out for that

Having trouble rinsing this stuff off. After it looked clean and wiped down I turned the oven up to 350 for a minute and it turned the whole inside white with residual...so ....I guess I'll keep rinsing with water?

Wrap foil around it, lift the element up before spraying, clean the rest of the way. Then, peel off the foil.

M. Calla depends on how dirty you get it. I’d suggest wiping it out with water and vinegar after every use once it’s cooled down so that you don’t have to use these toxic poisonous products. I clean mine once every year because I don’t let food spill over and don’t bake messy things.
