Turner Plus 3 Desk, Ham radio - CB Radio microphone review

On this video a quick look on the Turner Plus 3 desk microphone, made in 1971. A very popular mic, good for cb radio and ham radio. Still going strong today.

I had all the Turners, the +3 was my favorite for base and the Minuteman D104 the full bar push to talk for the mobile. I currently have a Super Side Kick, but wish I kept my +3B as it sounded better on AM than the Super Side Kick. The +2 is great also

I just got one on EBay to hook up to my 1979 vintage Kenwood TS-120S ham radio. Works great!

I have same microphone my late Uncle Bob gave me in 2004 before he past away, only thing had rewire tune forks to also tighten screws up plus clean forks up and put new cord microphone black one plus boot spring ! Only thing doesn't have lock plastic tab and had change Relay and Electric switch plus battery snapper! Mine has hard life and have used since 2019 ! Got find why my ground on modulation unless key up put finger near volume control tap knob and hope find why! Also Duracell battery last longer than other on 9 volt! On bottom by battery on switch should be on Electric for Magnum radio and Galaxy ! If got 1950's to 1977 base or mobile radio put switch on Relay because relay set and if microphone wire up for 4 pin Cobra or Uniden types and Midland or Sears are different wireing on 4 pin plugs setups !

Those are really good microphones. Maybe use pliers or vise grips to remove any screws that may be boogered up and put good ones in. Id change out the caps if it were me.

The microphone must be metal, a plastic microphone is garbage. Unfortunately. You have to respect what is left, it will probably never come back.
