Project looks awesome, but it was a lot of clickbait. You didn't make a 5k mitsubishi into a 10k, you're beginning a project of doing it. So yeah it's neat, but the title leaves one expecting the results of the transformation.

I heard the same...that's 499,500 miles on a transmission...and it looks like that? Most likely it's less than half that. I wouldn't care, I would just rebuild it to be safe. Most "JDM" shop advertise "low" miles but don't know the true mileage unless they have the paper work. Maybe he meant 84,000 kms? I'm sure they ran through the gears manually

@kaleb5426 Жыл бұрын
@@o044k I got my tranny rebuilt my reverse band went out (thankfully once I got home it went out) they do have transmission problems but I was around 200k miles. It all depends on how you drive really. I haven't had to do motor work beside basic necessities. Best thing you can do without much car knowledge is look up how to fix whatever it is. I have also needed to do basic suspension work but once again 200k miles on it, it is just basic necessities. I am sure I will probably have to do a water pump eventually and a timing belt. Realistically the best thing I could say is don't run the piss out of it and you'll be just fine. It isn't as bad as people say.

Stock clutch disc is good. Just upgrade the pressure plate. I personally run a Latitude 42 performance 2800lb kit in my vr4. It's good for 450-500awhp. It's just a stock disc and a 2800lb pressure plate. Also go with an OEM throw out bearing for that clutch, don't even fool with aftermarket ones. I'm at 350awhp and launched the car at the track 15 times with launch control at 4K rpm. Clutch is still holding great.

Hey just a heads up but Dodge made a car called the Stealth that ran many of the same parts as that car. I remember as a kid growing up i wanted one of these so bad, as my neighbor owned a White Dodge Stealth RT Twin Turbo. If you put a turbo back system on that car it will liven things up for sure, I would highly recommend doing so.

Price is going up in the USA. A clean nice stock AWD twin turbo 94-96 years are selling between $20,000-$30,000 today. Hard to find a stock version of these cars in good condition. A lot of back yard mechanic specials can still be found cheap. The Second gen seem to have the most resale value/ most demand. I have a 95 VR4 stock with 165,000 miles I drive daily all original everything even climate control works like new. and a 91 VR4 I bought at an auto auction from a collector. It has 2,790 original miles on it. I have it stored. I start it once a month but it never moves. Car is perfect condition. Not even a scratch on the paint. Tires are still original but are cracking from age. Tires are 27 year old after all.

If you can find one go with an RPS Max Street Disk Clutch. Best Single plate clutch made for these cars. Will hold 580+lb/ft and has a nice pedal feel without much added effort. Great street clutch. For short shifter, get what is called a Seattle Bearing loaded short throw shifter. BEST shifter made for these cars. While you are in there install some solid Shifter base bushings and Solid shift cable bushings (under the hood linkage at the bell housing).
