Turning an Oak Bowl (glue- up)- Upcycling - How To WoodTurning

In this video, I show you how to glue up two oak scraps and turn a seamless oak bowl. I turned this bowl on a Jet 1440 lathe, but you could really use any medium to large sized lathe to complete this project.
This bowl is classic and can be used for serving snacks or storing small items. It looks great on display.
These are great tips for upcycling wood scraps that you otherwise might throw out.

Hey great video. My question is..when you turned the bowl around to mount the "bottom" on the spindle- how did it attach to the lathe? There doesnt seem to be a thred hole anymore

David DeJong the Jet was a shit lathe. The belt went out on me twice in the 5 months I owned the thing. I returned it and bought the nova galaxi and it’s been amazing. The noise ur hearing is the belt falling apart.

What type of glue do you use? My bowls come apart on and off the lathe. I use elmers wood glue.

You didnt do 'shear' cute on the bottom you did scraping cuts. Instructional videos help if you use proper terminology
