As always great vid. I've done a lot of small work with copper and brass but never had the chance with bronze. Working it looks like it might be an amalgamation of the two which would make a lot of sense. Not nearly as crumbly as brass, and not as squishy as copper. The sink is beautiful and it's a really great idea!

Can you say a little more about the egg thing? I imagine something the eggs emits causes a surface reaction. how did you discover such a thing. And im also curious why you didn't dish the drain position so it would let all the water out. Amazingly creative project, i love the hammer finish you left. Im picturing it with a small hand cranked well pump and a reservoir tank in the vanity. You could use a toilet tank valve to keep the pump reservoir full.
@skullandspade

The sulfur from the egg is what causes the reaction. I spent a some time googling about Patina's on Bronze.

I read some different "annealing Temp" forums, but ultimately keyed in on one that say "bronze with turn very copper under the flame, but immediately grey when flame is removed." That seemed to be the easiest to keep an eye on.
