The war memorial in the park has my grandfathers name on it. E WALDECK. He was a civilian working as a boiler fitter and was killed in 45 in slough by a V2 rocket.

the multy tool knife is in fact feeler gauge , used to set spark plugs , [the spark ] and most spark plugs you find in the water were used as weights for fishing

I agree with William. Originally there was probably a set of different thickness blades each marked with its thickness in thousandths of an in inch. If the particular thickness that you wanted to measure was not part of the set then you could use a couple together to get the thickness that you required, for example 2 thou and ten thou to measure or set a 12 thou gap. There could be more blades still stuck inside the handle of your set, or perhaps the thinner ones have rusted away.

That cannonball I donated to the collab was found on this bridge, the island 500 yards down was a training ground for soldiers and knights in early days, we gotta take you to chomley guys you will love it how we missed that samurai is beyond me 😂

The Small Metal Item is a Rivet Button. They're commonly used on Jeans, Jackets, Coats, Overalls, Military Outerwear, etc... Anything that is made from Denim, Canvas, wool, or other hardy Material could have such a button.

I am so impressed you have gone to the trouble of finding & posting some old pics of Caversham (my childhood playground). I own & have seen tons of Caversham pics from the past but haven't seen a pic before of the Bridge under construction, well chuffed thanks peeps. Glad you love The Thames, I live beside it not far from Caversham & I love it also, it is an amazing part of our British Heritage. The Vikings sailed The Thames & a Viking sword was found here in the water & is on display in Reading museum. Big respect.

I've collets keys for years, so I love finding keys. Finding the old skeleton keys are at the very top on my bucket list of finds. I'm also searching for my 1st coin. I find washers & broken tops off of nails, screws and bolts that I keep to clean up hoping to find an old coin but to no avail so far.
