they all turned out so amazing! Also I think the image of the first cat might actually be a himalayen cat! :D they are very similar to Persian cats but to say it in a simple way, Himalayan cats are a mix of a Persian cat (as u can see with the long hair and smushed nose) and a Siamese cat (the darker spots on the nose, ears, tails, and sometimes paws) The Persian and Himalayan look very very similar, and some Persian cats do just have that color palette but with not Siamese in them. (I could be mistaken btw)

Siamese cats also have blue eyes, so thats most likely why a lot of the cats you saw with that color palette had blue eyes.

Not just a you thing- cat breeds are overlooked. I can name so many dogs- Afghan hound, papillon, doberman pinscher, labrador retriever, golden retriever, standard poodle, American Staffordshire Terrier, Pomeranian, chihuahua, cavalier king charles spaniel, Australian cattle dog, Australian shepherd, american pitbull terrier, flat coated retriever, nova scotia duck tolling retriever, pekingese, great dane, alano espanol, dalmatian, miniature pinscher, standard schnauzer, pug, english bulldog, American bulldog, rottweiler- I COULD GO ON AND ON! Versus cat- bengal, persian, siamese, ragdoll, maine coon, tabby, Russian blue, scottish fold... what else is there? Why?- cause more people tend to get dogs from breeders, and more people tend to get cats from shelters and rescues. So more of the breeder dogs are labs, goldens, poodles, etc, and more of the cats are mixes. Because of more purebred dogs, people tend to refer to them as "my american eskimo", or "my presa canario", while cats are normally "my cat".

Domestic short hair is the “mutt” of the cat breeds. DSH is the most commonly kept breed of cat in the US. There is also the munchkin, British Fold, Savannah (one of the largest domestic breed of cats, also a wild cat/domestic cat hybrid like the Bengal), Norwegian Forest cat, Sphinx (hairless), Egyptian Mau (which is what was used to help create the Bengal)... there are so many breeds of cats. We have 3 DSH: a black cat, a calico, and a tuxedo. I would love to own a Bengal when I can properly care for one.

I knew a beautiful little kitten that looked like a Siamese and had the most gorgeous eyes. They were light blue with pale green stripes. Those eyes were mischevious, but so gentle at the same time. She was the most beautiful cat I've ever seen. She was very sweet and playful. She would jump up in my chair and let me pet her. Her fur was so soft. When I pet her, it was like I ran silk through my fingers.

I think dog breeds are “more important” because they are typically bred for specific jobs so theres less variation in the breed. Its important to know if you are looking for specific traits. Cats are typically identified by their color patterns because 9 times out of 10, the cat is just a stray or a random mix of cats. Specific cat breeds are typically bred more for their look and not a specific job.

If you can get hypoallergenic cats (I know some people still have allergic reactions to some of them), siberian forest cats are very fluffy! I have two of them because we thought my dad was allergic (he adjusted and we now have 6).
