Shrimp burger inspired by Chinese “Honey Walnut Shrimp”! 🍤 🍔 This is the first video where I’m showcasing my food experimentations 😊 I wanted to create a Chinese inspired burger, so I made one emulating the flavor profiles of “honey walnut shrimp”(Recipe: • Chinese Honey Walnut S... ) For those who don’t know, honey walnut shrimp is a popular dish served at Chinese restaurants and banquets. They are fried shrimps covered with a sweet mayo sauce and eaten with sesame honey walnuts. It’s super delicious and still is one of my favs today.
I’ve tried to emulate the same flavors by using the same ingredients but in different ways. For ex, the shrimp patty resembled the fried shrimps with a crispy exterior. The sweet mayo sauce is incorporated into the cabbage slaw. The walnuts are grounded and are used in the dredge for the patty. and for some freshness, I’ve added thinly sliced pickled radishes. I’m happy with how this came out, it really honey walnut shrimp but in a different form.😜 I hope you enjoy the video! If you’ve tried this recipe, please let me know in the comments. [Ingredients]
Shrimp Patty:
- 15 shrimps (washed, deveined and peeled)
- Corn starch - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Chicken Powder - 2 tsp
- White pepper - 1 tsp
- MSG - 1 tsp
Dredge:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of Panko
- 1/4 cup corn starch
- 1 cup walnuts
Slaw:
- 1/4 cabbage
- Mayo - 1/3 cup
- Condensed Milk - 3 tbsp
- Half of a lemon
Others:
- Brioche burger buns
- Thinly sliced pickled radishes
