I love them all. I love the idea of Specter being all red-faced and Fuschia saying some dumb stoner “deep” stuff and him just shutting down and instantly de-aggroing just from sheer confusion. Wisteria and Bird are like, definitely the mom and dad of the group respectively.

I like the wings/antlers comparison for Spectre, but hear me out: advanced fae magics put significant pressure on the body and as a result sufficiently advanced users grow odd wing enhancements (possibly related to the dominate type) like Spectre's tendrals, Wisteria's purple overlays, and Fuschia's hypersaturation. Possibly an explanation for Bird's wings being so much less impressive than the rest of his family? Also, Spectre being a fish guy? Iconic. I bet they're all meticulously planted and scaped, and his favorite tank is his ghost shrimp.

(This is a lot of theorizing btw) Why do I feel that Ghost Orchid goes through this redemption arch where he dose learn about that all magics are equal but he is like grumbly about it like how a dad that says he dose not like dogs first interacts with the dog you brought home lol. But also what if he is also super strict about not abusing your powers and that’s why he does not use his hypnosis a lot. (Some of this makes no sense to the character but 🤷)

The outfits are very on point speaking of which please turn birds into ballerinas, they can be a team of magical girls and i don't know maybe they can go to a winx club inspired fantasy school please consider it i want to know your feelings on balletcore and Idk maybe they shape shift into the birds they're based on kinda like in the story of swan lake just a thought...

I dont know why but as soon as wisteria came on screen and you said she has a high respect for the science side of magic but wants to represent the students interests I immediately was like “spectre has a crush on her but wont make a move cuz she doesn’t fully side with his philosophy” and its mutual in my head but she wont make a move cuz she knows he would not budge with his science thing and she wont lose her job over him (cuz professional stuff), i love all these characters, i can imagine bird and phusia just playing video games to chill, i love birds lineage and his kinda distaste for magic cuz it did him dirty, these dynamics are just so good!

On a real note, I completely understand how frustrating art block can be, especially when it is a very regulating activity and you just feel disconnected from your brain and body/inspirational drive. Like you said, I feel a big skill leap about to take place when your block does start to flow again. I feel like Bird's family would joke around and brag about their powers by using rainbows as a comparison to their magical abilities. Like, I just imagine the Bird family is having dinner with some other family and Bird Dad is just like, "We go so fast, they say that when you see a rainbow it's just one of us teleporting!" And like-he's actually right about it, that's how rainbows are created lmao, but Bird *hates* it because he doesn't have that ability at all.

honestly, i admire how you share your struggles. i tend to idealize artists that i look up to, so it helps me come back down to reality and realize that everybody is human and we can all struggle in so many ways. im really hard on myself regarding my art journey, so it just helps to see that even artists i think are amazing and perfect also struggle in ways i find myself struggling. i love these videos and your art style

10:59 you say these aren't villain designs, but I think this absolutely does work as a villain design. In an academic setting, one would not expect chains and spikes on a villain, but this pale green and white color scheme is sort of subtly deathly and he has a lot of sharp points. The character concept could also definitely be an outright villain, not just an antagonist. You know, if oh... these softer magics are more commonly practiced by women, or other cultures besides his or something like that. Oh man, ESPECIALLY with the mind-control ability.

I love all of them so much, the backgrounds too like they add so much but don't take away from the designs at all?! its so impressive. I love seeing how you view these flowers differently - I look at wisteria, for example, and see a villain - where I am from wisteria is extremely invasive, and you can see it alongside roads climbing up and choking out native trees, so hearing you describe her as a more 'go with the flow' sort of character is wild lol.

Fun fact about the bird of paradise flower: the purple/blue center "sword" shaped thing is positioned in a way that when the pollinator (usually hummingbirds) perches on it opens up and gets the birds feet covered in pollen. Funny way to tie it with the "open up" of the character you mentioned, and also the superfast thing, cause hummingbirds are the fastest haha

Imagine if there was a cosplay convention for fairytale outfits🤩!!! Yes, there are those Renaissance fairs, but I usually see royals and pre-existing themed outfits. Wouldn't it be cool to go to a cosplay convention that involved one's OC's? And if not cosplaying yourself, asking friends or other people to cosplay your designs would be so cool👏🏼😍 !! Anyway... Ooo, maybe Bird was a kind and patient authority figure to Specter’s Luna Moth sister when she made her first change and was struggling- and that adds draaaamaaa. Or better, if Luna (Moth) skipped the school step, and is around the same age as Bird, the two met outside of school and started bonding over shared family drama and being the underdog- and the two started falling for each other. Could be Bird didn’t know whose sister she was, but I imagine he just has the audacity and isn’t letting the whole social dilemma bother him for a second. Wysteria is simultaneously relieved and a little annoyed at how much he’s leaving her alone now. Not out of jealousy, but because she views him as a bit of a womanizer now. (Maybe he is a little, but he’s mostly needy and falls in love easy. Wisteria is too strongly independent to understand that- his anxious attachment is why the broke up)

i think it'd be neat if bird had aphantasia and that was the reason his teleportation is so weak, because he literally can't picture places in his mind without seeing them in real life, whereas the rest of his family have no problem with pulling up mental images so there's nothing holding them back. i have an enormous soft spot for stories about teachers so i am OBSESSED w these guys!!! i absolutely love all the dynamics and interpersonal ~drama you've given them. i also really love the variation in the faces, your effort definitely pays off! i especially love fuchsia, im so weak for characters with sleepy eyes ffkdskgkdgj excellent work as always, your ideas & designs are always so creative and wonderful, thank u for sharing them!! ❤

i feel like professor spectre smacks his stick on the board to get everyone’s attention for important information and that’s when he does the mind control thing to help his students pass his class, maybe his ability only works when the receiver is paying full attention but nobody has caught on because they think he’s just mean and a stickler for attention. like a teacher that seems harsh on his students but cares about them and helps them in little inconspicuous ways when he can

Not sure if this would interest you at all Kira, but if you wanted to take a step back from the growing pains of developing your art, I think making a video that explains the overarching story/connection between the characters you have made thus far would be really interesting!! Personally love your storytelling and hearing your thought process. Just something to consider, make sure to take care of yourself! Art block won’t last forever, do what feels right
