Watch how we turn free pallets laying around the house into a beautiful coffee table. We combined my dads skill in woodworking with my skill in metal working to create this piece. We made this 4 way herringbone pattern and sealed it with epoxy. Hope you guys like it! leave any tips and tricks you have for us in the comments and let us know if this is a piece you would have in your home!!

Woodworkers should research which markings on pallets denote that they may have been used with hazardous chemicals. I haven't messed with pallets in a few years so I don't recall them offhand, but due diligence is up to the maker.

Very nice table that epoxy u use is a good product. 1to 1 part a and part b not sure how long u let cure after the flood coat but you need weeks for it to cure i did a small table and let it stand for a week then wrapped a towel around itn until i got the legs unwrapped it and it had small dimples in it it was a hot summer long story short any epoxy when u use it give it weeks for the cuer b for handling it or placing items on it that epoxy is great for pen making and bottel stopers for quick handling iam going out today and getting some pallets thank s guys great job

Great looking table, my only criticism would be that the epoxy looks a little wavy and uneven on the surface when the light hits it. I think a thicker flood coat with sanding/compound/polish would make it look a lot better. Either that, or remove the epoxy, and finish it with a glass top.

For the future, use 2x epoxy glue when securing the treaded inserts and there is no reason to use 3 different size washers when using one washer the same size as the nut going in to the treaded inserts. Other then that, great work!

@fathersondiygarage3580 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tips!! Only reason we used more washers was because the bolts were a little long. I guess we could have bought more or cut them but we just went with what we had at the time.

You don't need to use a push stick for stuff wider than 3", I have been woodworking since I was 17, I am now 36 and have never used a push stick at that width. If you think its required at the width they just did... you should stop wood working.

@@EliteDadBod Alright gobby no need to get shirty. I was just making an observation about not using a push stick and it is better to be safe than sorry. And good for you for trying to impress with the amount of years you've been woodworking. If you want to go down that route I've been woodworking since I was 15 and I am now 41 I am also an offshore coded welder and no matter what the job safety is the main priority. So pipe down and knock the sarky comments on the head. It's not impressive
