Because I know some bat expert will comment this, I forgot to state in the video that (obviously) the majority of bats that eat fruit fall into the megabat territory (hence the classification "fruit bats") but some microbats still have some fruit/nectar in their diet even though they eat mostly insects. Sometimes I've gotta bend the scope of my inspirations a little to get more visual variation in there! That's what I ended up doing here.

I'm genuinely intrigued, with the lore of vampirism in this universe, is how vampire hunters would work. How they'd kind of be like the other side of the coin to vampires, with a certain separation from humanity and an obsession with hunting them, abandoning everything they love (For their safety mostly) and how they'd avoid becoming cursed in the same way vampires are. Maybe by sacrificing parts of themselves like a warlock does? I think that would be an interesting part two if you were interested in delving more into the lore of the universe you made and maybe give these character a couple enemies/foils.

That being said, I can totally imagine a crossover episode for your whole vampire anime where it's revealed that Fig works at the timeless circus from your "Turning Pinterest Images into a Cursed Circus". Like, I can TOTALLY maybe Fig was the one who had Cake teach Ruby how to wield a knife or a scenario where Ruby gets the idea that maybe the circus' grim reaper fox character's time-traveling coffin/sarcophagus could probably be used to reverse Hargreaves back to before he ever made Ruby into a vampire & coming up with a plan to lure him into the coffin/sarcophagus only for it to unfortunately not work.

The mango vampires feeding method is very similar to the way one of my vamp ocs was turned omg!! My vamp, Celadon, was courted by a British gentleman in the 1850s but it turns out he was a vampire and was only doing that so she "tasted better" when he fed on her. He didn't intend to turn her but it happened, she just decomposed a teeny bit before coming back to life 😅

My vampire obsession is definitely! not! snowballing! These designs and the lore you made are so interesting!! I love the concept of how they hunt and their fruit obsession?? That’s just a whole new concept, they’d not only have a secondary source to fend off their hunger for a while but also have to know where to purchase (or steal) fruits from, and I was thinking maybe the more obsessed they were with their fruit or the more they ate them over blood, they’d need higher quality fruits (vice versa with the blood?) to sustain them for shorter periods of time, until they go back to feeding on people. They’d have to maintain a balance between the two, and always need both! I will never get over your designs being so maximalist but also reading as what they are meant to be, they’re so good!!

Adding on to the lore here! Fruit vampires are part of the Plant Peragonia (or Plantera Peragonis genus if you want to get all weird and technical) under the Natura Occultis class. (Think dryads and your plant sims for this class) However, against common speculation, they're actually their own species. Much like standard vampire lore, they are normally turned and almost never created. In regards to elemental classing, however, they're more uncommon than standard vampires. But not as rare as water-based vampires (hydro veiners) or fire based vampires (often called fire strikers; not to be confused with the actual fire striker species; flame bloods or fireglows). Fruit vampires are similar to plant vampires. (vampires based on flowers and non fruit bearing plants) Their sun exposure is limited by the fruit their based on/eat. Vamps based on more tropical fruits can last almost a full 12 hours in direct/semi direct sunlight. But also, like plant vampires, there is a rare chance that their fruit (of origin?) is completely toxic or for their fruit to be something rare, like cloudberries or baobab fruit. Like you said, they can normally subsist off of just fruit for quite a while before they have to feed on blood. I also like to think that they can also eat other fruits, but it doesn't keep them as full for long like their main one does. (a nice exception for vamps with rarer fruits, however this could become a massive problem if their main fruit goes extinct)(I'll cover that in a different post) Singular hunting styles varies between vampires, but often colonies (especially smaller ones like this one) will pack hunt for not only blood but also their fruit of origin.

A friend sent me this (she knows I have a tiny bit of a fixation on Vampires). I love this so much and now your Vampire lore has me scheming…! Curse you…but also thank you…! I never knew there were so many different varieties of raspberries and I have no idea which one my of them is my favourite…😔 Also as a bit of a sidenote, mind if I ask about the specific strengths/weaknesses of Vampires, and about how exactly they grow stronger normally? You mentioned them turning into bats (though due to the context I’m not 100% certain that they can do that 24/7) and sunlight vulnerability, and I assume Fig’s enhanced agility is part of just being generally human plus physically. I don’t like to assume the capabilities and limits of Vampires because there’s so many different versions across fiction.

Evie: Hebrew and Latin girl’s name meaning life or living (which is quite ironic since she’s undead)/Evelyn: mixed origin girl’s name that means desired, wished for, island, or life (which is also pretty fitting given her backstory) Anslo Hargreaves (the vampire who sired Evie and Ruby in their backstories): derived from the Proto-Germanic words ansuz meaning god and lauhaz meaning clearing or meadow (fn) British boy’s name meaning grove of hares (ln) his first name is quite fitting since he sees himself as this higher being above the rules and his last name is both ironic and fitting since rabbits are fast breeding animals and Hargreaves didn’t have any biological children but wanted to sire many vampires as surrogate children Ruby: girl’s name derived from the Latin word “ruber” meaning red, rubies are also often associated with wealth, health, passion, and success in love Nigel: British boys name meaning champion/hero, cloud, and dark (the hero part is quite ironic given how apathetic he is) Fig: figs symbolize wisdom and success in an abundance, additionally figs are considered sacred and even holy in certain religions (irony of a “unholy” being named after something holy as well as a character who often acts before they think being named after something that symbolizes wisdom) Elaine: Latin girl’s name meaning Sun (ironic given how vampires burn in the sunlight)

I adored this video. I've been sick for the past 2 days so this has really cheered me up:) I really loved the creativity you had with these designs I love the way you blended fruit and vampires together, and the lore was very lovely to hear it something I love abt your longer character design videos. I've also been working on some fruit based fantasy characters for a collage project a dragon fruit lady peach lady and strawberry lady. so this video was a really lovely way to see how different artist interpret similar concepts, I even used your art as inspiration. Also as always you looked stunning in the opening of the video. I aspire to be half a preety as you in the future:) Really lovely work hope you have a lovely evening
