Aw thank you! Oh my gosh it's been so long since birthday fries! Come to the pirate festival and we can have some there!

Must say, I was hoping this was a real peg leg build. Mind you, I've already converted an old leg into a peg. I was hoping this video might give me insight to a high wear resistant crutch tip for my peg. Most blow out in a day of walking, and shiny floors are a bitch. Anyway good on ya! Keep pirating.

Oh I would absolutely LOVE to do a real peg leg build one day, but I might have to rope my prosthetist into it. Clearly I'm more of the "duct tape fixes everything" variety :D actually, I will definitely ask my prosthetist about a high wear tip next week. He has done some interesting conversions (mop leg...etc) so he may have some insight. I will admit that I think the thought of peg leg plus shiny floors is quite horrifying. I would LOVE to see your peg leg build though! Thanks so much for watching and I'll comment back if I get any useful info. This is a scintillating conundrum!

I'm currently beginning the process of working with someone on Etsy who is willing to make a single boot for me. That will proceed in the next week most likely. I have to wait to get my boot knife from Ebay so I can get them the full dimensions of the knife. They are going to build in a knife sheath for me. I already have quite an assembly of pirate weaponry. To me that's half the fun of dressing like a pirate. I can walk by a cop with a sword on my hip, a 9" bladed double edged dagger, 3 throwing knives and a double barrel flintlock pistol and the cop doesn't even bother me about being so heavily armed in public. All my armament is real.

@@Zealology I just sent a pic of me on my peg to your Facebook page. Probably in your "Other" box.

Charles! You're not kidding around! You're a real pirate! Your "kit", so to speak, sounds incredible! Are you documenting this anywhere? I'd love to keep track of how it goes with your boot and see all of your gear! You're a KZbin channel waiting to happen!

So how would you do that to you prosthetic leg if you have a sleeve on it
@Zealology5 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about a cosmetic cover or a sleeve to attach it to you?
@Zealology5 жыл бұрын
I'm going to answer both! I used to have a cosmetic cover on my leg, then I had my prosthetist slice it up the back so I could pop it on whenever I wanted to, and I never looked back! I've never worn a cover since then. I just prefer it this way now. Regarding an attachment sleeve, I don't apply the wood all the way to the top and the sleeve adheres to the wood anyways, so it's not a hindrance. I have a glittery lace finish on my leg right now and it handled being taped over with no issues. If you have a cosmetic cover that replicates a human leg then you may not be able to make a "peg" looking leg. But perhaps you can talk to your prosthetist about options for popping your cover off! Let me know how it goes!
