Here's a story about this song and this band..years ago I was dating a really sweet girl who got me into this band. For her birthday, she wanted to me to buy tickets to see Circa Survive (a band I wasn't familiar with) and Turnover was opening for them. This concert happened in 2017 and I can recall that they played mostly their Peripheral Vision songs. For some reason, the songs did not speak to me. I was distracted and really didn't want to be there. I felt like I didn't connect with the fans or the music. To make matters worse, me and my ex girlfriend got into a heated argument and we ended up leaving early. This was 7 years ago. Fast forward to today, I've replayed this song and the whole album countless times. It's one of my 10 ten favorite albums of all time. I have since lost contact with my ex girlfriend but I hope she is happy and I thank her for introducing me to this amazing band and masterpiece of an album. I can say it has truly changed my life and whenever I feel lost I put this album on to remind myself that I am not alone.

lyrics- Can I stay at home, I don’t want to go I don’t want to wake up till the sun is hanging low Stay up through the night, sleep away the light Just another dream I had that's better than my life Adolescent dreams gave to adult screams Paranoid that I won’t have all the things they say I need What if I don’t want a pattern on my lawn All I know is somethings wrong because everyday I’m craving that new scream lusting for more than just, old dreams I’ve been dying to feel alive And I’ve been wasting all my time, chasing the high Can I reset my brain if not I’ll go insane, I swear to God that I don’t think I can go another day Am I the only one, is this in all of us, I hate the thought that I’m alone But I hope that your not craving that new scream, lusting for more than just, old dreams I’ve been dying to feel alive And I’ve been wasting all my time, chasing the high Still craving more than just, the same as how it was, I’ve been collecting dust And I’ve been waiting still craving… xx

I first heard this song in late 2015/early 2016 in my senior year of high school, around the time I was getting ready to turn 18 in February, thinking about the future of being an adult. Now I'm 26, and this song is now more relevant than ever. I got a steady retail job, two and a half years sober as a recovering alcoholic, working through life autism and what was undiagnosed mental illness at the time in my college years and early 20s - just taking it one day at a time.

"I hate the thought that I'm alone, but I hope that you're not" Holy fuck. That just hit me hard af right in the gut. I think my anti-depressants are the only thing holding back the tears right now... This album perfectly captures the feeling of being terribly hurt by a lover and holding so much resentment for them inside of you, yet still not wishing them the least bit of pain because you still love them all the same and you know they're just as human as yourself. You don't want revenge. You only want them back, the way things were before. You don't want them to hurt unless it helps them understand how they've hurt you. You still only want the best for them, even though they're the worst for you and turning you into the worst version of yourself. You can't stop recycling through past memories. The beautiful ones, and the ones that traumatized you (to whatever extent). Overall, you would hate them if you could... I could surely go on like that forever.. I feel like I can personally relate to this album so much, to the point that it's a lil' bit eerie. And oh yeah! You get double points towards your Official Turnover - "Peripheral Vision" BINGO Card if your breakup somehow involved substance abuse putting stress on the relationship in one way or another.. ;')

Sino me voy a volver loco.

I think this song is about someone developing a mental illness later in life. Start with "I don't wanna wake up till the sun is hanging low" and the following. Sort of reflects someone who has insomnia or anxiety and any social event can be crippling. knowing at night there is no one to deal with. "Adolescent dreams, gave to adult screams" I think reflects dreaming of a huge life of grandeur and the screams reflect panic attacks or insecurity and feelings of no control. The "What if I don't want a pattern on my lawn" makes me think of a lot of mental health advice is to make a routine and live a normal life. here the author is stating he doesn't want a routined normal life. "Craving that new scream" if we think of "scream" the same way above, I think we can consider scream a new insecurity or worry. IE they are so tired and stressed on this one thing, they are craving a new worry so they can stop stressing about what they particularly are now. "Ive been dying to feel alive" and what follows I think can related back to the first line. Doing destrucful habits, obviously drugs or alcohol, or essentially losing yourself in the process to not feel like all of the above. With all that I think its self explanatory the rest of the song.
