Evan was a student in more than one science class I taught back in the day. He is the real deal. Missed 3 days of school to mourn the death of his favorite hound. I am proud to say I sold him his first muzzle loader. Going to see him in concert for the first time this Saturday. Best wishes, Evan.

Lacey Hart Evan is a poet. He is a writer; a genius with words that come from the heart that was made, developed and brought to us from “fly over country.” As a guy who grew up in the backwoods of Missouri, he writes from a place I understand, know and live. The beginning words of this song make me smile every time because I was lucky enough to marry the dark haired green eyed beauty who comes from a more educated, more sophisticated city family than mine. She had never head a “country song” that wasn’t by Carry Underwood, Taylor Swift or “trendy” Willie Nelson. Now, at 39, 13 years deep into a dating/married relationship with a rural Missouri kid, her favorite place to see live music is CAIN’s ballroom or Knuckleheads in Kansas City (where we live) and loves the poetry from guys who are diminished from the status of a poet due to their background, location and delivery format. Thus, she is less sophisticated and likes “stories” from guys who “are just a drunk with a pen, “ (Hayes Carll). I’ll

Songwriting at its very best. Soul-wrenching, heart-grabbing, unbelievably sad yet true. I love the 7&7 line that says" Well, I had no clue, I'd be the boy who Your mama warned you about". That's the one I most identify with. I'm so glad you guys are back. Stay true to yourselves no matter what.

Love that song, great lyrics. This one too. “Good lord lorrie I love you could it go more wrong”… The rise and fall of a relationship Lori said her family used to have a lot of money and they still act like they do. and your daddy don’t think I’m fit to sit in the same room as you.. if I ever set foot in Worcester county your brother said his break my jaw… Yet here I sit with the dark hair daughter of southwest Arkansas.

I have been listening to this band for a long time now. have always been a fan. I have heard them do this song live numerous times now. This is the absolute best version of this song, and what makes it that for me is the harmonica playing. Being a musician who writes and plays this type of music I can honestly say that it makes this song. The bends are perfect and it's so clean and crisp. Astounding.
@redleg94827 жыл бұрын
you nailed it Jake. Evan crushes it with the harmonica. Everyone in the band is a great musician, and Kyle Nix might be the best fiddle player alive right now.
