@@DeathsAvarice yeah, some people who have never experienced the lower ranks think they're all dogshit like this but gold players usually are decent at one aspect of the game, like maybe one has dog gamesense and positioning but can hit his shots, one might not have the aim but makes up for it with positioning and so on. this guy is the worst of the worst at ALL aspects of the game. that's what makes him bronze (probably bronze 5, as my bronze 3 dps friend isn't even close to being this bad)

Gold 5 here.. I could actually not argue with him from my perspective. So many times i've looked at my hand and wonder what kind of shit i've done in my previous life to deserve such a aimless, worthless hand.. I know where all the players are at all time, i know their strat from the moment i see them. I know their dance pattern (right+left to juke the aim) but my hand is 1 second behind.

This is a really important video for people who claim that it's not cheating when you see stuff like this. There's levels to these types of cheats beyond just hotkeys or foot pedal switches to turn them on etc. Slight aim assist, sometimes nerfing the head shots to every few shots(adjustable) etc. This can be especially effective with hitscan players etc. The telltale is almost always positioning and movement. I tend to be suspicious when it's a good lobby, but one person is 25-15 and the deaths are because of skill diff and bad positioning etc. A quick review of the footage almost always turns up crap like this video is showing. I'm not going to say its rampant, but it's enough that major streamers like @Flats can make content all the time...

From what I've been seeing, a lot of the telltale signs of cheats are in the tracking and wall hacking. Kill cams alone don't tell the full story unless the hacks are really blatant. It's good to watch replays (and the whole replay, since cheaters often crank up the settings or do some interesting afks) when suspicious. Too many people still think aimbot means constant head shots.

The unbelievable thing happened in my game yesterday, a cheater actually got banned mid-game in my comp games! And honestly, I think I was the only one in my team that noticed they were cheating, also I wasn't saying anything because skepticism. I think one of the devs said something about the report function not working either until just recently. My group and I noticed that we weren't ever getting "thanks for reporting" screens for reporting obvious cheaters and toxic people like we normally did, but then I saw on twitter one of the devs mentioned that the feature hadn't been working up until just after the start of season 6. So hopefully we'll start seeing the streets cleaned up soon. It could be possible that anti-cheat wasn't working either since Blizz devs seem to care about anything outside of fixing OW2.

The best skill of this Soldier was his aim, but that was due to cheats and he still didn't hit most shots, which is why I believe he would have problems in Gold as well.

The key thing to note about soft aim especially watching in slow motion is the immediate change in direction of the crosshair depending on the movement. Also he probably was doing right click only due to right click being hitscan and him having no projectile cheat enabled.

It's a softlocking aimbot via trigger + walls. You can toggle the aim on/off on command and seems to be tuned down so that it's not 100% obvious. They're often customizable so you can choose where the hits go directly or by random within a set X/Y axis. Used to use such software when I was a kid, around 20 years ago in ET with dedicated servers for cheaters. Same methods are used in game development as well, i.e. hitboxes or what ability hits where directly or randomly in an area. Nothing has changed regarding FPS cheats it seems.

4:29 PSA: Aim assist in OW does not work this way. There is generally 2 methods of aim assist in general. The first is the one the Flat speaks about further on, a pulling aim assist. The other is a sticky aim assist which is what this game has. Sticky aim assist basically dumps your sensitivity to a very low amount while you are on a target so you won't over shoot it. So if you see someone pulling like this even in QP, they are cheating not on controller since that isn't how aim assist works in this game. In COD and Apex, yes, but not this one.

Anyways, because of you an emon's hilarious cheater videos and my own recent frustration with running into people like this (I just recently switched from console to pc, never seen so many aimbots) I looked into how these cheats work and why it's so hard for blizzard anti cheat to detect em. You can clearly tell this guy is either using a crappy, possibly self-made aimbot based in python, or his PC is so terrible that his cheats can't even work well. The funny weak point to these aimbots is they are FPS dependent. So say you're running an aimbot on a 30fps machine, you'll miss more often than not.

I'm curious if the reason he right clicks distant targets is to hide his aim cheats. He can just say they were hit by the spread and it isn't his fault. I would think that it also allows for a weaker snap setting since he is essentially shotgun blasting, thus he can look less like he's aim cheating and he's not patient enough to wait for a hitscan aim snap anyway. The up close left click could be a cover as well, to say of course he hit them when they're that close. Now he just needs to get better at not shooting targets through walls, then he'd probably get away with it.

that looks like one of those cheats that is harder to detect as it does not inject code but rather affects mouse inputs and colour detection. so they would be assigning a colour value that matches the name/health bar of target and then offsets its position to have it under the name roughly where the character is, then the cheat tries to keep the crosshair within a defined area to have it move around in that area instead of a hard lock. which is why it looks weird in its movement.

this looks like an aim bot design to track the head movements with a slight latency it tracks the head position very well with a small gap which throws it off when moving sideways but get position and movements correct and youre setup for a bunch of headshots its designed to limit headshot accuracy while still working so it doesnt stir up suspicion

He was pretty blatantly using aim assist at the start, the aim tracked perfectly and it didnt take him even a 10th of a second to realize they were going the other way, he just immediately changed his direction of aim

Its an aimassist bot that pulls your crosshair towards the nearest hitzone. So if his crosshair is close to the head, it pulls towards the head etc... That and obvious walls. I know this because I designed similar cheats in a college project. Never distributed or used real-time of course.

When he’s repairing the turret and tracking the Moria through the wall. What makes it better is the turret was already full health and wasn’t get shot… this guy is a specimen… it make me wonder if he has hands

I suppose I might be biased as I don't play FPS and only watch, but I found that in this case aim bot is quite obvious. If you slow it down, you'll notice the instantaneous reaction times when changing directions. The only thing is that the mouse travel has a speed limit (which is presumably somewhat random too), so it seems to fall behind sometimes, but everything else just screams of it.
